Mikes POV
Ok, even though I would never make it known, it was actually really fun making the cakes and shit. After lounging around the house waiting for them to cook and having to deal with the amazing smell without eating them, everything was finally ready. El, will and Natalia packed everything up and me, Eddie, Lucas and Tiffany planned where we'd go and the rough time we'd be back. Richie, Dustin, max, bill and beverly prepared some "must haves" like sunscreen, some fishing nets, baby wipes and other random shit. Jack was giving ruby a tour of the house but they'd been gone half an hour already and the house is tiny, so I think that jacks been touring around a bit more than the house if you know what I mean. Hopper and Steve left and told us to call them tomorrow when we wanted picking up and Ben, mike and Stan were being useless as always and were just playing cards. I didn't even notice that I was staring at el, I do it almost unconsciously at this point but she noticed and smiled. She looked the happiest id seen her in a while and it melted my heart. I smiled back and she nodded, showing everything was ready. Richie, Dustin, bill, bev and max had joined Stan, mike and Ben with the cards and ruby and jack had come down. Me, Eds, Lucas and tiff were all done so we set off to the woods, jack 'heroically' carrying the picnic basket, Richie carrying the bag of random crap and Lucas had shoved the map and compass into Richie's backpack. El came over and took my hand, smiling her angelic smile up at me and I couldn't help but grin back. We strolled along a path into the woods until eventually it faded and we were just walking along a random natural trail. We came to a little wooden bridge over a flowing stream and opted against the bridge and splashed about in the water instead. It was different fom when we went camping together, it was darker and greener and we had a bigger group this time and it was just all around a more magical atmosphere. We sat on some random rocks by the river and stuck our feet in whilst eating the picnic, occasionally throwing stuff at each other and random bits of food for the birds and squirrels and shit. I tried not to care when el went off with Will somewhere. I really did. At least jack was in sight though, flirting with ruby, which is apparently a new frequently practiced hobby of his. After multiple paranoid glances at my watch I spotted el and Will walking back towards us, looking flustered and talking in hushed tones. What did they do..?
Wills POV
"El we have a problem. A serious problem," I said urgently. El looked nervous.
"What is it?" She asked. I looked around us to make sure no one was in earshot.
"Jack said I have to try and get you and mike broken up so he can get to you or he's gonna tell mike that he's seen us... do... um...something. If you know what I mean, and he's gonna take Natalia away from me! El this is bad. What to I do? I know mike doesn't trust me around you from before, I mean he's better but something like this... he'd flip his shit. I'd completely lose his trust. And you have no idea how much I've liked nat and for so long too. What the fuck are we meant to do now?" I asked frantically. El was still and silent the whole time and she looked horrified.
"I... JJ said that?" She asked, close to crying. I nodded gravely.
"Yeah. He did. Maybe your precious little JJ isn't as amazing you thought," I snapped, turning away from her and running my hand through my hair. When I turned back around, silent tears ran down Els cheek as she looked at me. She looked so sad.
"El, I'm... I'm sorry. I just, I don't know what to do," I said, pulling her towards me and wrapped my arms around her, leaning my head down to her level and holding her. I wasn't as tall as mike and we kinda just fitted together better. I exhaled heavily as we broke apart.
"Ok. Just play it cool ok? You know how..." I said, looking for the right word.
"Protective," she said.
"Yeah. Protective... mike gets." She nodded and smoothed down her hair and we headed back to the others. Jack looked at me suspiciously, eyes narrowed. I glared at him angrily and sat down beside Ben and Lucas, trying to think of a solution to the whole mileven crisis. El had gone back and sat between mikes legs, which he had curled around her and I just scowled at jack. I swear, he is evil reincarnate. I gotta think of a way outta breaking up mike and el but there literally isn't a loophole. I'm trapped. There's nothing I can do.
