Mikes POV:
I really wanted el and I to be alone while everyone fucked around in the water. But no. They were all in the middle of the lake laid on a huge rock sunbathing. El was wearing WILLS shirt loosely and kept it unbuttoned, dustins hat and her favourite sunglasses. She laid inbetween wills legs as he sat, leaning back to back on Lucas while he played with Els hair. Oh FUCK NO. I walked across the old wooden pier and threw the clothes on the rock before sliding in the cold water and wading over to them. Dustin saw me first.
"Hey mike!" He said. Lucas turned around and max looked up before rolling her eyes. What the hell? El lifted her arm lazily, not moving, and Will shouted hey, his back still towards me.
"Hey." I replied through gritted teeth. I clambered onto the rock and sat next to Dustin, facing el and will.
"WOAH. MIKE YOUR LEG!" Will shouted. I looked down. Shit. It was bleeding. Bad. El jolted away from Will and quickly examined my leg before curling up in my lap.
"I'm so sorry mike!" She said, starting to cry
"Why? Don't be sorry baby," I said as softly as I could when my leg was giving me hell.
"I-I should h-have come wi-ith you-u a-and kept y-you safe-e!" She said between sobs. Awwwwe.
"No no no baby it was my fault- I took a shortcut," I said, making her giggle slightly. She shuffled further up my chest and kissed me unbearably softly. Fuckin hell. I hugged her tight to try and compensate for the lack of kisses. It didn't. El took off wills shirt (YES!) and wrapped it around my wound. The blood quickly soaked through. I winced as the fabric got in the cut. I ignored it and put my hoodie on el and fed her Reece's pieces. She looked so cute. A smile creeped up on my face as I watched her weave the the small daisies on the mossy rock together into a crown and I placed it on her curls. She smiled up at me. The sun began to set and the evening warmth wrapped us all in a blissful unawareness. I was truly happy.
Els POV:
This is perfect. We all sat in a comfortable silence as the sun set around us, putting us in an amber glow of happiness. I looked up at mike who had his eyes closed whilst he played with my hair and interlocked our fingers. I was so happy I could almost feel it radiating off of me. I wanted to stay in this moment forever. Max sat under Lucas's arm, her head on his shoulder watching the beautiful sunset, dustin sat beside us, leaning back on a rock, will sat back to back with Lucas opposite me and mike. I lay curled up between mikes legs which had curled around me like a nest, his arm hanging loosely over my shoulder, our hands interlocked. I just wanted to freeze time in this moment. It was just perfection. Just like mike. I looked at him, admiring his gorgeous black curls, his big brown caring eyes and the adorable freckles that littered his nose and cheeks. He opened his eyes and looked down at me. I just completely melted.
Mikes POV:
Wow. She is just so stunning. She looked more like a goddess than usual, the golden dusk light basking her in a ray of absolute beauty. Her skin radiated a soft gold glow and her warm chocolate eyes glistened like a whole galaxy of stars. Her soft curls twisted around her face perfectly and I just couldn't resist. I kissed her gently, not knowing what mood she was in and she slowly deepened it. It was just so amazing, until Dustin decided to be a prick and ruin it.
"Get a room you two," he said laughing. I put my middle finger up at him and cuddled el, closing my eyes and resting my chin on her head. I cannot think of anywhere I'd rather be. The sun set and plunged us all into darkness, the beautiful stars becoming visible. Dustin was asleep and so was max. El stared at the sky, her eyes full of wonder and shining brighter than I've ever seen before. I've got to admit, this pushes the lake to 3rd most beautiful thing. This was definitely second. I was stunned silent. Will threw a rock at Dustin to wake him up and Lucas shook max gently. They absolutely had to see this. Will disappeared for a minute before running back with his Polaroid in his hand. He jumped from the pier to the rock.
"Wow will, mike couldn't do that!" She said laughing. I glared at her as Will laughed too. He took some photos and handed one to each of us.

It was truly a sight to see. Lucas and max left to go back to their tent then me and el followed as will and Dustin went with us back up the cliff. We walked quietly, my arm around el. We parted and me and el walked down the cliff, not wanting to take a shortcut. She looked absolutely gorgeous, staring up at the stars. I was completely mesmerised. Why would I look at the second most beautiful thing I've ever seen when the fort was standing I front of me. She was admiring the stunning sky as she lowered her gaze to my eyes. All of the stars in the universe shone in her eyes and I felt so compelled to kiss her. I fought the urge until we atleast got to the tent.
**1hour later**
We sat on the massive roots of the tree about a metre off the ground. El had her head on my shoulder and I had my arm around her.
"I love you," she whispered, taking my hand.
"I love you more," I whispered back, dropping my arm from her shoulders and snaking it around her waist. Her breath sped up.
"I-I love you most," she said, stuttering slightly as she stared into my eyes.
"Not possible," I said, a lopsided smirk pulling at my lips. I felt her tense up as I pulled her closer and her breathing hitched.
(Btw right about now it would be good if you played hold back the river by James bay. Makes it better😘) 
She looked up at me, those beautiful bright eyes glistening. I leaned down and kissed her gently. She kissed back and I began to deepen it at a slow pace, not wanting to rush her. It was unlike anything we had ever done before, I felt a really strong connection between us that I hadn't before. It was as if this kiss was sort of... binding us together. I lowered myself, hopping off the colossal root and onto the floor before picking el up and lifting her down. I didn't let go when she was down and continued to kiss her as she wrapped her legs around my waist for stability. It wasn't rough. It was gentle and peaceful and felt right. It was in this moment, I realised this is how I want to spend all my nights.
