The police are here. I tell them what happened and bring them into the school where it happened. Lucas doesn't let go of my hand.
"This kid will be taken care of. We will get his information and sort out things with court. We will notify you when you are needed." The officer says.
"Thank you." I say. Lucas stands firm next to me. The police then leave.
"Come on, I'll give you a ride home."
Lucas says pulling me along to his car.
When we get to where I live he gets out of the car too. He walks over to me. "How do you feel?" He says placing his hands in mine.
"I really don't know." He gives the smile that I'm crazy for.
"Well I can make it better." He says smiling. "Will you go out with me?" Now it's my turn to smile. My heart is beating so fast. I nod my head.
"Yes, yes I will go out with you." He pulls me into a hug. I want to stand there forever with him. I feel so safe with him.
"I love you V." He whispers to me.
"I love you too." I say back. As we continue to stand there arms wrapped around each other.
"I'll see you at school tomorrow." He says slowly pulling away.
"See you tomorrow." I say smiling at him. I watch him get in his car and drive away. My life is changing and I'm happy about that.
