Lucas
She curled up on the couch and cried. I sat down next to her and held her in my arms while she cried on my shoulder.
"Why did she have to come? Everything was going so good and then she shows up." She says mumbling into my shoulder as I tried to whip away the tears on her face.
I didn't answer. I wasn't really sure what to say. From what Veronica told me about her, she sounds like a violent women that only cares about her self. But you never know. She could of changed. But even if she did, Veronica couldn't trust her. She told me that the only person she truly trusts is me. And really, she's the only person I truly trust to.
When Veronica settled down, I told her I would go check and see if her mom was still there. I look out the window and don't see her car so I go back to Veronica and tell her she's gone. "Thank you." She whispers as I sit down next to her. She puts her head on my shoulder.
"You know, you make a really good pillow." I laugh. Even in the darkest of times. Veronica still has something funny to say.
"I love you." I whisper to her.
"I love you too." She said smiling at me. I can see the tear streaks down her face.
A few seconds later I realize something that I've never thought of. "Hey V? I just realized I've never took you on an actual date."
"Lucas you don't have to take me on a date." She says. She knows though that I'm not taking no for an answer.
She rolls her eyes and smiles. "Fine."
