Lucas

Sunsets are the best. I took her here because this place is really special to me, and so is she. I haven't been here since my dad and brother died so it's kind of a big deal for me. I also figured that it's time for me to tell Veronica about my family and everything that happened.

"This was my favorite spot as a kid." I say looking at her. "Me and my mom, dad, and brother would come here on the weekend and just watch the sunset."

She puts her arms around my waist. I continue. "Everything was great, and then one morning I wake up and hear screaming. I remember running to the kitchen and seeing the police talking to my mom while she was crying. That's when I thought my life was gone. I changed as a person completely and was losing my mind. Until I met you V."

She gave me a nod to continue. "I thought I was the only one that has gone through things that just made me mad want to leave. But you showed me that there is light at the end of the tunnel and I love you for that." I say. She gives me a hug and plants a gentle kiss on my lips.

"Lucas I love you too and I'm happy I could help. You've went through a lot of intense things and I get how your feeling." She said looking in to my eyes.

"Well." I said. "What exactly happened with your family?" I could tell see was try to think of the words to say.

"There not really anything to say. I already told you that my mom left when I was nine and my dad died of a broken heart. But they treated me like crap. Like I was invisible. They never talked to me or did anything with me. But when my mom leaves to go to the grocery store or to work. My dad would be calmer, instead of strict like he always was." She took a second to breath.

"But my mom would tell me I was a mistake. I wasn't meant to be in this world. The day that my mom left though, my dad started throwing things and kicking things and screaming. I woke up one morning to that and as soon as I came out of my room, he started saying that I was the reason why she left. It was my fault." She said as tears fell down her face. She was looking out at the faded sky. I moved her face to look at me. I took my thumb and wiped away the tears on her face.
