You felt cold, which was strange. You stirred, feeling warmth on you, it wasn't a blanket that's for sure, it felt like a human. Once your eyes focused, you saw a chocolate haired boy sitting beside your bed, head resting on your hand as it cradled his face. He looked exceptionally tired, and it broke your heart.

As if he sensed your awakening, he lifted his head, turning to you with his eyes trying to focus on your now awake figure. "Morning love, I missed you." You said with a smile, before he lifted your hand to his cheek, savoring your warmth.

"I love you so much. I just wanted you to wake up so badly." Oikawa murmured, fighting to keep his voice from breaking.

"I love you too. How long was I asleep for?" You asked, slightly confused.

"Almost a week, are you feeling better?" He asked, his eyes running all over your face, surveying if any feature had changed while you had been away in Australia.

"Sort of. I feel like crap but that was a good sleep." You said, yawning as you tried sitting up.

"I'm sorry you're not feeling good. But you scared the crap out of me." He said, his chocolate eyes locking with yours.

"I'm s-" Your words were cut off as a nurse entered into the room, looking at you and Oikawa.

"Good you're awake! Your fiancé has been sitting by your bedside for the past week, waiting for you to get better so you could wake up, how are you feeling?" She asked, checking your vitals as she did a series of other tests.

"I feel okay, I hurt a little and I feel like I just woke up from the dead but oh well. " You replied as she connected your current I.V with another bag of solution.

"And fiancé?" You asked, trying to think. You took one look at Oikawa, who had a sly smile on his face as he looked at you. "Of course that's what you meant, thank you so much for watching over me." You said, turning to him as he rolled his eyes, before grinning. "Anytime, I hope you don't mind but your ring is at the jewelers getting shined up." Oikawa gave your hand a squeeze.

"How precious. Anyways, you should be good to check out by tonight, the anti-venom worked perfectly and the poison is out of your body. Hopefully you'll be ready to return to your college studies." She said, before disappearing out of the room.

Another figure popped into the room, a massive look of relief on his face. "(f/n). You fucking terrified me, I told you to get that checked out." Iwaizumi said, before going to your bedside, careful to hug you.

"I'm sorry, I'll make sure of it next time. I missed both of you guys a crap ton." You said with a smile, before they both broke into grins themselves. "Yeah well we missed you too. Remember how your room was Australia themed? Oikawa here had decorated your room for you when you came back. He didn't want me to tell you, but he wanted to make you happy." Iwaizumi pitched in, before you turned to him and tilted your head.

"You should have told me sooner, I could have thanked you! I thought it was the other guys." You said, before he shrugged. "No big deal, I am the perfect Oikawa after all." He said with a laugh.

"Say that again and you're never allowed in this hospital room again."

"Well thank goodness you're leaving tonight then."

"Shut up." You rolled your eyes, but you couldn't help smiling. Of course he was still his handsome and childish self, god, you missed his heavenly smile.

Later that night you rested on your bed, looking at the journal that was sitting on your bed. One of the back pages had been folded, so you knew either Oikawa or Iwaizumi went through it.

"Hey how are you feeling?" You heard the tall boy ask, leaning against your doorframe. You smiled before looking up at him. "Good."

"So I uh, read your journal, and I figured I should tell you one of the reasons why I act the way i do." Oikawa said, moving to your bed as you stared at him curiously. Before nodding your head anxiously.

"Well, you see, I loved playing volleyball when I was in middle school. There was a group of kids who were two years older than me that always played in my neighborhood. One day, I walked up and asked if I could join, and they said I wasn't good enough to play with them. So after that, I drug Iwaizumi out everyday to practice with me." Oikawa sat there, playing with your hands in his lap as you listened contently.

"So I practiced everyday to the point of exhaustion. One day, one of my coaches I had told me I wasn't good enough because I didn't have any true talent." You quietly watched as he bit his lip. shaking his head. "It destroyed me, to work so hard for something then to be told you weren't good enough." He said slowly, his mind replaying the words in his head over and over again.

"And Tobio came along. He was truly gifted, and I didn't like that he was naturally talented without having to put as much work as I did in. I was so upset because it wasn't fair. " Oikawa let out a sigh, looking back at you with a frown on his face.

"Long story short, the reason why I overwork myself is because I want to be good enough. I want to be better than the other people, I wanted to prove them wrong ." Oikawa said softly, before you leaned over, kissing his cheek.

"I'm sorry people were jerks, but you're an amazing player with talents only the fantastic Oikawa could have and I truly admire how much work you pour into volleyball." You said giving him a smile.

"Am I good enough, for you?" He asked, afraid to hear your answer.

"Of course you're good enough. I love you okay?" You reassured him as he nuzzled his face into your neck playfully.

"Then can we go get some milk bread now? I'm hungry." Oikawa chuckled into the crevice of your neck.

"Sure, let's go 'fiance' I can't believe the front desk people believed you," you rolled your eyes, standing up as he laughed once more.

"What? I'm convincing." He said before dragging you out of the room with him. Iwaizumi watched from his room quietly. You had brought back the Oikawa he loved, but he couldn't help but feel uneasy, considering he had talked to three girls since you had been gone.
