It's strange, being the person outside of that sleeping body. You felt numb, even if you had cracked one of your ribs and fractured a part of your wrist. Nothing hurt, in all honesty you didn't feel anything. No sadness, no happiness, no pain, absolutely nothing.

You were sitting in a wheelchair besides Oikawa's bed, and all you could do was stare and look at him. You never thought about being in his position when you were sick, but now you were, and this time it was your fault. You tried sitting up after the crash, but you couldn't , instead you felt anything and everything. You felt your heart shatter into a million pieces as you tried to see what was happening, with ambulances rushing to the site. Your lungs ached, and so did your ribs, every breath you took hurt, both physically and emotionally. That should be you on the car, not your boyfriend. You said you'd never leave a conversation upset, because you truly were never promised another hello and goodbye.

He had his reality check, now you were experiencing yours. What was worse was that your body froze, you couldn't move, and you could hear the people talking, stating he was already dead most likely, and that his chance of survival was slim. You tried to turn your head, but your lungs would tighten, forcing you not to.

The stench of the hospital was suffocating. It smelt over-clean, and the white walls were so bland you began to forget what color looked like. You forgot what it was like to feel human, and that's all you wanted to feel. You had been there for four days, waiting for Oikawa to wake up and being treated yourself, while the doctors were unsure whether that would happen. For you, it was a guarantee, but not for Tooru, there was no valid proof he would or wouldn't wake up, and that was truly terrifying.

Iwaizumi was there as soon as possible, and he wasn't sure how to feel. He always kept a stoic face, but once he saw Oikawa with half of his face in stitches and neck in a brace, he lost it. He couldn't stop the tears from falling down because he was utterly scared. Both of his best friends had had their lives on the line, and he was absolutely helpless, he grew so frustrated that he punched a wall, resulting in large bruises on his knuckles.

Then six days passed by, and you were cleared, so as soon as you were wheeled out of those doors, you sat in the car, staring out the window like a ghost. This had all been your fault. Once you were home, Semi came over, and you just sat there, until you couldn't bare it anymore. You started to cry, but they were empty tears, you didn't feel anything when you cried, as a matter of a fact you didn't feel anything at all.

He looked at you sympathetically, before he wrapped you in his arms, laying you down in your bed. However, you reached your hand out last minute, telling him not to leave but to stay. Semi willingly did, until you curled up in a ball, falling asleep on his chest, wishing to not wake up until Oikawa did.

And that's how you would have stayed, if it weren't for Semi who kept taking you out to get food and get a little bit of air. A week had passed by, and there was still no signs of him waking up soon. Iwaizumi was stressed, where he hardly slept at all. And there had been a week that passed by with no knowledge of basic human emotions, just emptiness.

Everyday you spent with Semi, who made sure to spoil you and do his best to make you smile, which he usually succeded in, even if they were empty. Iwaizumi was grateful, for you moving around and slowly healing. Semi would go over and make you and Iwaizumi breakfast, before taking you out to lunch and making dinner, doing his best to relieve both you and Iwa's work load.

On the second week of Oikawa's time since he had been in a coma, Semi came over, before you curled up in a ball, resting your head in his lap as he let out a sigh.

"I used to think you were perfect, with no hardships and a perfect life. I can tell I was wrong. You struggle just as much as every other human, maybe even a little bit more. It's strange, the masks people put up to protect themselves from the outside world that is so willing to tear them apart. Sometimes they need something that will remind them what happiness is. So," Semi said, before he gently got up, moving to Iwa's room.

After a few minutes, he came back out, holding something in his sweatshirt. You cocked your head, before he pulled his hands out, revealing a one-eyed kitten sitting perfectly within his palms. "Iwaizumi said you needed something to perk you up, so I went looking. Meet Pirate." You sat there, in disbelief. Suddenly, you felt a surge of love. He placed Pirate on the couch as the kitten that was probably a runt, waddled itself into your lap, before climbing up your chest, tucking his head underneath your neck.

And for the first time in two weeks, you felt complete happiness as you looked into Semi's glowing eyes, before giving out a little giggle.
