Happy Birthday Love

I woke up on the next day and rolled over in my bed to look out the window. Sunlight streamed in through the gaps in the curtains. I looked over at my suitcase, which was on the floor, opened with my clothes out all over the sides and the floor. When I got back, I was very tired despite sleeping through the coach ride. As soon as I got in, I dragged my suitcase to my room, started to unpack some of my things but then just knocked straight out.

After having a shower and getting ready for the day, I went down and had breakfast.
"How was your week?" my brother asked as he came in.
"It was fun," I smiled and then proceeded to tell him about it.
"Sounds like you had a really good time," he smiled. I nodded, still smiling.
"How was your week?" I asked.
"The usual," he shrugged as he walked out, "oh yeah, I almost forgot, the things you told me to buy are in the living room on the shelf."
"Oh yeah, thanks," I said, following him out of the kitchen.
I had asked him to buy me some things while I was away. They were for Alex, as his birthday was the next day. The boys were planning a party for him and we were supposed to be helping, which would mean I wouldn't have had a chance to get his presents myself.

After watching TV for a while, I put my coat on and headed over to Jade's house. She was on her way out just as I arrived.
"Hey babe," she smiled as she walked down her garden path. "So what have we got left to do?"
"I have no idea, I guess the guys will tell us when we get to Andre's house."
Andre decided he'd host the party, with the rest of his family gone away on holiday. The rest of the group were already there setting up. It wasn't a surprise party, as Alex already knew, but he wasn't helping with setting up. He had only decided on the guest list.

When we got there, Leigh was blowing up some balloons, Jed and Andre were hanging up a 'Happy Birthday Alex' banner on the wall.
"Hey Babe," Jed greeted Jade.
"Hey Perrie," Andre said smiling.
"Hey," I replied, "Where are Harris and Jesy?"
"He's gone to get the gift us boys all chipped in for," Jed said as I sat down next to Leigh.
"Jesy went with him," Leigh added. "They're not at their best at the moment."
"What?! Why?" Jade asked in a low voice as she came to join us.
"They're just having some issues," Leigh answered, "that's all I know. You know Jesy, she doesn't like talking about it."

"So, what else needs doing?" Jade asked looking around.
"Well once we're done with the decorations, we need to sort out the food and music and stuff," Andre said looking around. "Oh yeah and we need to put an order in for the cake."
Whilst they all got on with the decorations and sorting out the music, I went to the store to get some drink, snacks, paper plates and cups. I walked around the store looking for the cutlery. Once I found them, I put them in the trolley and carried on walking, without looking where I was going, and I bumped right into Caley.

"Watch where you're going!" she exclaimed and then looked up a me. Her eyes focused on me and then she smirked, "Oh, it's you."
"Sorry for bumping into you," I smiled slightly and then proceeded to walk past her resisting the urge to roll my eyes.
"It's cool," she said smoothly, "well, see you tomorrow."
"What?" I asked slightly taken back.
"At Alex's party," she shrugged with a big grin on her face. "He rang me last night and said he'd love it if I could come. I mean I said no at first, but then he practically begged, and I couldn't say no to that."
I felt my heart plummet in my chest but kept a straight face.
"Lovely," I said walking away.
"Yeah, he asked me to meet him tomorrow before the party too," she smiled, "he must really miss spending time with me." I didn't know what to say, causing her to smirk, "Well see you." I froze in place feeling my pulse increase.
'I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation,' I told myself trying to calm down.

After paying for the items, I headed back to Andre's house, with the bags in my hands. It was a struggle as there was a lot of bags but after about ten minutes a familiar face ran towards me with a huge grin on their face.
"PEZ, OH MY GOSH, HELLO!" Claud yelled as he ran towards me.
"Careful!" I yelled back before he came so close that I dropped the bags.
"Here let me help," he said picking up a few of the bags. I smiled slightly and handed them over before resuming the walk back to Andre's house with Claud beside me.
"What's wrong?" he asked after a few minutes.
"Erm... it's nothing," I said quietly, "I hope." He eyed me curiously but said nothing else.
