Joining everyone else, our teachers begin to give us our final task for the day and I search through my booklet for the activity I have yet to complete.
"So, the last sheet on your handouts is where you need to record the information of the following task. You need to politely, speak to some of the locals and ask them the questions written on your sheets. Make sure you ask them if they have the time to answer your questions. Don't just walk over there and start asking questions. You have an hour to complete this. Stay around the beach and the shops by the beach. Don't go too far. Off you go..." the teacher instructs, walking over to the side of the beach to stand beside the other teachers. The students stay exactly where we are reading through the questions and looking for people that looked nice enough to ask. A few of them snicker behind me, pulling my attention away from the task and on to them. Turning to see Zayn, Alex, Harris and Andre, giggling between themselves, I send Alex a questioning look and he motions over to where the other boys are looking.
Down towards the end of the beach is an incredibly fat man sunbathing on the beach. When I say fat, I don't mean to be cruel, but he is very large. Like his stomach sticks out a good few inches from the rest of his body! Next to him is his wife who looks almost as fat as him. Again, I'm not trying to be cruel, but she is quite big. Not pregnant big. But big, big!
Trying to hold in a laugh, I avert my gaze and shake my head at the boys. I may have the same initial thoughts as the boys but it's incredibly mean for them to stand there laughing at him. Zayn watches me and chuckles, "Watch this."
Opening his booklet, he walks over to the man with Alex, Harris, Andre, Jesy, Leigh and I following behind. He walks right up to the man and asks if he can answer a few questions. We all try to keep straight faces as he speaks to the man.
"No problem," the fat man agrees slowly sitting up, leaning his hand on his wife's arm for support. I bite my lip to prevent a giggle from escaping as Zayn proceeds to ask him questions. The man answers them slowly, in a gruff voice. Looking around at the rest of us all standing there watching him, I notice Jade and Jed have also joined us looking rather amused. Although I can't stand Zayn, even I enjoy this display. Maybe, this stupid boy still has some favourable assets. Some. Maybe.
"Thank you very much for your time sir," Zayn thanks him sounding very grateful yet very sarcastic at the same time.
"No problem," the man smiles showing his teeth. Or what's left of them. Again, no offence.
We all walk away, and when we are out of earshot, we all burst out laughing. Even me and the girls."Man, that was epic," Andre laughs through tears as the rest of the boys agree. Zayn chortles along and then looks at me as if he's waiting for my approval.
Jesy notices this and with an evil glint in her eyes, she states, "got to agree with you guys. What did you think Perrie?"
JESSICA NELSON I WILL KILL YOU, I SWEAR!
"Yeah, it was quite funny," I affirm laughing. Zayn beams at me as if the purpose of his actions only become worth it when I agree they are funny. Staring at me intensely, he smiles for a second and I give him a small smile back. The whole group watches our exchange in anticipation, waiting for me to tell him to stop staring, but it doesn't come.
I have fallen for Alex. A hundred percent. There's no doubt about it. Despite his numerous flirtatious comments and actions towards other girls, he's always going to be special to me and vice versa. There is no guy that could ever treat me as well as he does. He's perfect to me and I have slowly fallen for his charms, humour and his kindness towards me. Not to mention his good looks. Every time he looks at me his eyes soften. Nothing like when he looks at other girls. I don't know if this means he likes me. In fact, I'm sure this is just because he sees me as his best friend. But I have fallen for him. Hard.
