It Was Just A Feeling

That Saturday we had a girl's day. Jesy left us with quite a few unanswered questions but none of us really wanted to push her for answers. Despite the way she acted in front of everyone else, we knew she was very sensitive. Especially when it came to these kinds of situations. We met up for lunch and then decided to go bowling.

"Girls, I don't mean to brag," Jade started and we all knew what she was going to say next, "but I am known to be pretty good at bowling

"Girls, I don't mean to brag," Jade started and we all knew what she was going to say next, "but I am known to be pretty good at bowling."
"Oh here she goes," we laughed as she strutted into the lane we were shown to.
"Thank you," Leigh told the staff before joining us as we typed our names into the screen.
"Go on then Jade, show us what you got," I laughed. She picked up the bowling ball with both hands, then faced us and took a very swift bow. Walking towards the lane, she did a little ass shake and then bowled the ball. It knocked over eight of the 10 pins and the knocked over the remaining 2 as a spare.
"I mean I hate to say I told you so," Jade said proudly, "wait who am I kidding, I TOLD YOU SO!"
"You know what no-one likes?" Jesy commented with amusement clear on her face, "no-one likes a show off."
"Just try and beat that, Jes," Jade challenged brushing off imaginary dust from her shoulders.
"Watch me," Jesy accepted and then marched over to the balls, picking one up and sending it hurdling towards the pins.
"9 out of 10, girl," Jesy celebrated in laughter, "what's your smart ass got to say about that?"
"That in order to actually beat me, you need to hit that remaining pin," Jade smirked.
"Not a problem," Jesy replied in an Australian accent. True to her word, she bowled the next ball and knocked down the last remaining pin. "Thank you, thank you! I'd like to see any of you beat that!"

"Make way, the professional is coming through," Leigh laughed, as she walked over and picked up a ball. Taking a rather large swing back she threw the ball up into the air, so it landed on the alley with a large bang. Then it rolled slowly into the gutter and missed all of the pins.
"Lee-Lee you're definitely a professional," Jesy wheezed as we all burst out laughing.
"Why am I like this?" Leigh laughed, as she picked up another ball, this time hitting seven of the pins. "I think I redeemed myself there," Leigh said, more to herself before looking at us and laughing again.
"My turn!" I smiled, jumping up to get a ball.
"Perrie! Perrie! Perrie!" the girls chanted, bigging me up as I swung my arm back and bowled the ball with a lot of power. The ball whizzed down the alley and...
"STRIKE!" I squealed in excitement and turned around as the girls cheered.
"Nice throw, Pez!" Jade smiled high fiving me, as she walked past to pick up a ball.
The rest of the game we spent just like that, having fun, and cheering each other on, and laughing at Leigh's clumsy attempts. Bless her. In the end I finished first, then Jesy, then Jade and Leigh was last, much to her amusing dismay.

When the game was over, we spent half an hour in the arcade next to the bowling alley, playing air hockey and racing games. Jesy looked like she was having a really good time, which made me smile. Splitting up with Harris was probably hurting her a lot. Splitting up with anyone would be. I understood, I had felt that pain before.

We headed to Pizza Hut, which was across from the bowling alley. After studying the menu and placing our orders we sat in quiet, none of us really wanting to be the one who asked the question lingering in our minds.
"I guess I should explain now?" Jesy said breaking the silence, to which we all smiled and nodded.
"I don't know girls I just can't explain, it just didn't feel like it was... it just didn't feel there anymore," she tried to explain but she just confused us more. "I don't know how to explain it." She paused for a moment and recollected her thoughts. "Like at the start it was good and fun and there was a spark but I feel like it's gone and the only time it seems fun is when we're with the group and all eight of us are there."
"Are you okay, babe?" Leigh asks putting her arm around Jesy's shoulder.
"Yeah I guess so," she sighed, "I guess I mentally detached from him before we actually broke up so that makes it slightly easier."
"Are you two still friends?" I asked.
"I mean we said we would be," she smiled, "but who actually goes along with that anyway. I mean with the group I guess it will be fine, but I don't think we'll be spending any time alone again."
"I guess we'll just be hanging out as a big group rather than just the eight of us," Jade shrugged as the waitress brought our food over. "Bon apatite!" We dug in to the pizza and ate in silence, too content with the food to have a chat.

"Oh, that was beautiful," Jade said as she finished her pizza and placed both hands on her stomach making us all burst out laughing. "Do you think I should order another?"
"Babe you ate a whole pizza by yourself," I replied, and they all looked at me waiting for me to elaborate. "I dare you to finish another!" I added with an evil grin. Jade smirked and called the waitress over.

Half an hour later, Jade was sipping on her Sprite and looking at me smugly.
"I can't believe you just did that," I said in complete and utter shock, "I can't believe you just ate another pizza!"
"You shouldn't doubt me, babe," Jade smirked proudly.
"Never again Jade," I laughed as we got up to pay and leave, "never again."

By the time I got home that evening it was half past six. I went straight to take my make up off before running back downstairs and jumping on to the sofa alongside Jonnie.
"Where have you been all day?" he asked as he flicked through the channels.
"Out with the girls," I replied smiling.
"I feel like I never see you anymore," he sighed. "I mean you spent pretty much half of summer away, and the other half, I was still working." I felt a little astounded at what my brother was saying.
"Aw, Jonnie you missed me!" I cooed getting him into a headlock, which he managed to get out of easily. "Want to play a game?"
"What are we? Five?" he laughed.
"You're the one who said you never get to see me," I said crossing my arms.
"Fine," he replied, "what did you have in mind?" I jumped up and grabbed the Twister box. "Oh hell yeah! Let's do it."
"This is going to be interesting," I laughed as I spun the wheel.

20 minutes later I was regretting choosing to play this game.
"Jonnie, for the love of god get your ass out of my face!"
"Get your face out of my ass," he said straining to stay upright. I started laughing, which caused him to lose balance and then I lost my balance and we fell in a heap on the floor.
"Perrie, get off!" Jonnie laughed, as I stood up. "You know, Alex is going to dump you when he finds out how much you weigh." My eyes widened. "You didn't think you could hide that from me, did you?"
"How did you know that I'm with Alex?" I asked in shock and he just winked at me. "You're not mad?"
"I think you should invite him over for dinner," he said, and I raised my eyebrow.
"He's come over for dinner before," I reminded him.
"Yeah but now you're together or whatever, so I think you should invite him," he replied standing up and heading towards the door.
"Okay," I shrugged, "I will."
"So I can have a few words with him," he mumbled just as he walked out of the door.
"Oi!" I called out but got no response.

I texted Alex to ask if he wanted to come over the next day and I got a reply almost instantaneously.
Yeah! You going to cook me dinner? 😉xx
I smiled and rolled my eyes remembering Jonnie's last comment. Tomorrows dinner was going to be very interesting.
