Sebastian's POV
As the night went by and everyone was in their slumber, I decided to check around the manor like I always did. Not to mention our new household member.
Y/n, beautiful name for a beautiful lady, though she might need to learn some attitudes and language. I sensed something different from her since the first time I laid eyes on her, I knew she was hiding something behind that smile. Not to mention that time she recoiled when I took her arm. And even though her behaviour was bold, her aura somehow enticed me. Not only that, from the way she acted, her aura also showed that she wasn't a mere human.
The thought of her made me smile as I walked down the hallway. Glancing at Y/n's door one last time, I walked back to my room, until a faint scream alerted me, stopping my tracks.
Peering over my shoulder, I realized it came from Y/n's room. I decided to check up on her, see if everything was fine. Knocking silently, I got no response.
Consider me rude, but I opened her door, surprised she didn't lock it from how loud she was when I helped her bathe. I snuck my head in, seeing her curling up on her bed.
"Y/n? Are you alright?" Her body shook each time she took in a breath, her face hidden between her knees. Well, I had to say I wasn't surprised at her appearance. As I said, I knew she wasn't human. One thing I didn't know was how did I not see her marks when the first time we met.
Y/n's appearance started to revert to her usual self. The door creaked more as I stepped in, she snapped her head up to me at that. She frowned, eyes expanding at me. She wiped her face, fixing her hair. "Do you not know how to knock?" She snapped yet still sounded like she was trembling.
I let out a small chuckle, closing the door behind me. "Sorry... Your door was unlocked. Not only that, I heard sounds from your room, is something the matter?" I questioned, taking a few steps towards her.
Y/n bit her bottom lip, eyes wandering around the room as if she was hesitant. "No, it's just a dream... A... Memory." She mumbled shyly. From the way she talked, she was trying hard not to spill unwanted things whilst troubling to speak out.
Y/n's POV
I could've stopped but something inside of me was telling me to trust him. I hated the feeling. I barely know him. But I had always wanted to open up to someone, someone I could trust, rely on, someone I could give my back to. Was he the one?
"Sebastian, ... Will you tell me... That I can trust you?" I quietly asked, watching him walking near me. Sebastian smiled, facing down before he spoke, "That depends on you, do you think I'm trustworthy for you?" Instead of an answer, he gave me another question. That made me think again, should I?
"If I may, I can prove how you can trust me. You see, you and I, we are the same—”
"You're wrong." I cut off his words, he raised his brow in curiosity as I deciphered he wasn't human.
Demon... Another one. Of course.
"Please, your aura says it all. You and that kid. Probably he ordered you not to tell lies, correct?" I scoffed, resting my arm on my knee. He looked surprised by my deduction. Can't blame me for that, he should've known how to hide it well.
"How'd you—"
"You're not a good liar, in front of me, at least. I'm surprised those servants haven't figured it out yet." I continued, words filled with confidence. Sebastian chuckled shortly, resting his hand on the end of my bed. "You're a smart one... I like that."
"Ugh... Stop that..." I held my head, facing away from him. I heard him clearing his throat before he continued. "So... Do you think you can trust me?"
I slowly looked up at him, God I wished I could do something. I heavily sighed and spoke truly. I decided to trust him.
"I'm not... I'm part human. I wish I'm fully human but God says no. Some little things would trigger my memory and I hated it." I confessed, hugging my knees back. Sebastian hummed, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Is that why you awoke in the middle of the night?"
I sighed before I told him about my recent nightmare. Recent? Not exactly, it happened more than once. But I just couldn't tell him all.
"At every time I try to move on from that, it haunts me even more, drilling on the back of my head as if it was a woodpecker. If there is anything else other than that I hate, it's my dark side. It's there, it's always there." I breathed a shaky breath at the end. The feeling I had almost made me puke.
The room fell silent for a few seconds, the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife until Sebastian broke the utter silence. "I'm sorry to hear that... If there's one thing I can say. You shouldn't let your past decide your path. Forgive yourself," He responded to my words. I scoffed at that, "It's easy for you to say." extending my legs under the covers. Sebastian's eyes soon were locked into mine as we gaze into each other for a few seconds. Now I realized, he was quite handsome for a demon. I felt my heart beat faster as he slowly got closer to me. I shook my head and moved away.
"It's just... It's hard for me. You saw me when I first met you. I was bold and confident. But you haven't known the real me yet."
Sebastian nodded, standing up from where he sat. "I appreciate you trust me enough to tell me this, kitten." Honestly, it felt good, telling it to someone else. I smiled at that until I realized his call to me.
"What did you call me?" I snapped my head at him, clearly surprised. "Well, you've been playing nickname since we first encounter, I figure I would give you one as well." He simply replied with a satisfied grin. A blush crept onto my cheeks before I know it and I quickly faced away.
"All right, good night, Y/n."
"No... Actually... Can you..." You reached a hand to him before he walked to the door. He looked back at you over his shoulder, slowly turning his heels. "Could you stay here... Through the night?"
Though I knew he didn't sleep and would probably just watch me doze like a creepy hawk, I didn't want to be alone for tonight. Sebastian breathed out of his nose and pulled a chair, "I'll be here." He spoke, sitting down on the chair.
I hesitantly watched him, getting back under my covers, and started to drift off back to sleep with his company. Hate to say it but it's quite relaxing, hopefully, I woke up from a peaceful sleep.
