『Chapter 24』

Joker led the way to wherever he was going, with you and Sebastian just trailing behind him. Along the way, you saw a lot of circus performers and tents. You caught a few that made you wondered, they were blue quite smaller than any other ones.

Joker looked at you over his shoulder, "Married, are both of you?" You snapped your head at his sudden question, cheeks suddenly flaring red. "Wh-what?! Us?! N-no. We're not-" you were lost on words, putting up a nervous smile at his false assumption. Sebastian seemed not troubled by it, of course. He grinned at the thought instead. "You could say that." He said, earning a subtle punch to his arm from you. You pursed our lips, growling at him.

Joker chuckled, "I'm kidding, though you do look like lovebirds." He continued his path. "Right this way. Sorry, it's kinda filthy." Joker exclaimed, gesturing to the surroundings.

He came to a stop, "Ah, Snake! Is the doc in the medical tent?" waving his hand to Snake where he sat on the ground, his pets slithering around his neck. Now that you were closer, you noticed how he had some sort of snakeskin on his cheek.

Snake didn't reply, he stared at him wordlessly. "Oh, maybe he's making rounds," Joker said, he continued to walk.

Joker lifted a curtain to a tent, "Good, there he is! Doc! " he cheered to a man in a wheelchair. The doctor swivelled around, meeting Joker's eyes. Dagger, who was next to him, turned his head to you three.

"I got someone here who maybe need you," Joker reported, moving aside to show Sebastian behind him. Dagger was surprised and he stood up, pointing to Sebastian. "You're the one who got bitten by Betty!" He shrieked, which made the doctor's eyes widened in concern

"Betty?! That's terrible. We need to check you quickly!" Said the doctor. You shook your head at their actions, "This is wasting their time, poor guys." You whispered silently.

The doctor told Sebastian to come near him so he could check on where Betty had bitten him, oh the head. As the doctor check on Sebastian, Dagger and Joker moved back next to me. "Were you not worried about him when he was bitten?" Joker said, getting your attention. You hummed response before replying, "I'm used to it." You casually shrugged.

"Did you really get bitten by Betty? I don't see any wound..." The doctor said as he finished examining Sebastian's head. "Just an affectionate nip," Sebastian said with a smile as his face sparkled. The other three were confused at his calm attitude. "Well I'm glad you're alright." The doctor sighed in relief.

"Too true! I fear the troupe leader would kill me for letting a customer get hurt!" Joker said, walking closer to the doctor. You tilted your head at that, "Wait... I thought you were the leader?"

"I'm more or less a hired replacement. The real one is scary." He explained. Sebastian stood up, brushing his outfit. Your head turned to the entrance as it opened to reveal Beast coming in.

"Doc, would you take a look on my leg-" Beast said as she tapped on her leg. She froze as she saw Sebastian three beside you, though Dagger was very happy to see her.

"You're that dapper freak! What are you doing here?!" She yelled angrily, pointing to Sebastian. "You wrecked my show-"

"Beast! You can't talk like that to a guest."

"Now doc, please don't shout in front of our guests!" Joker tried to calm everyone down, motioning with his hands. "Yeah! Just check on her leg." Dagger popped up behind him.

You elbowed Sebastian silently, "This is all because of the fuss you made!" You half-yelled into his ear. "I thought you liked it." He replied. You threw your head back, letting out a small groan. "Just don't do any other shit."
