"It's a girl!" She said, tugging his sleeve. She handed the newborn to the man beside her. "Would you like to hold her?" She inquired. His eyes landed on his little creation. His nose cricket at the lack of power he sensed. Yet he took her in his arms anyway. The fragile little creature gurgled under him, earning a low chuckle from himself.

"She's gonna be fine. Whatever she is, human or demon, she's our daughter." She smiled, leaning on his side, looking at the baby over his shoulder. The male only let out a scoff at her remark, remembering the reason he did all of this. He gazed at his daughter, curious about what she held. All he needed was time.

>>>

She didn't know why he did it. One night he was there, beside her. The next thing she knew, he was gone, nothing left but a note. Not a good be note, no. It was worse, she wished she never read it. That caused her to looked at her daughter differently. She didn't want to tell her, but she couldn't handle her being around. She couldn't handle another one of his offspring.

"Mom? Are you alright?" She looked down at the short creature, rage filling her eyes. "Are you thinking about Da—" A hand made its way across her small cheek, pushing her down the floor.

"Don't you dare!"

You gasped heavily, jolting up from your slumber. Your hands clutched onto your blanket, series of breath escaping your lips. You bent over, holding your head, feeling the pounding headache. The nightmare pecking on the back of your head. You tried to move, only to land on your fours, suddenly pain fell over your entire body. Skin ripping, bones cracking, the ringing in your ear wouldn't stop. Your hand found its at to your cheek, where the stinging hearted more than ever. You realized that by now, you were screaming in agony when you saw Sebastian by your door, looks frightened when he saw you on the floor.

He called out to you, quickly came to your aid. You felt his hands on your shoulders, trying to calm you. He noticed your appearance changed. Strands of your hair turned black, more black lines on your face, even your symbol revealed itself. That was when he knew, a new pattern showed up, how clear it was. He'd seen that symbol before. His mind wandered to several conclusions, but he refused to believe his assumptions.

"Y/n!" He called once more. You felt sick, you couldn't even move. You released a final breath before your body shut down, falling into darkness.

Sebastian caught your body going limp, cradling you into his arms. He checked you up, relieved when he found your pulse. From the hallway, several footsteps were heard as they came to a stop on the door. "What was that?" Meyrin was first to speak, Bard and Finny followed up behind her. They gasped silently, seeing you unconscious.

"Oh, dear! Is she alright?"

Your appearance reverted to normal before they came. Sebastian picked you up, gently placing you back on your bed. He turned to the others, "She'll be fine. In the meantime, tell Tanaka to bring a pot of warm tea." They did as he said as they sprinted off.

Sebastian looked down at you. Feeling your burning skin, short whimpers, and beads of sweat from your forehead. He'd never seen you like this.

>>>

You gasped a breath, waking up for the second time today. Only now, Sebastian was next to you. He quickly moved and grabbed your hand gently. "Hey, it's alright. I'm here." He soothed you. You caught a glimpse of his ruby-red eyes and they somehow eased you. You looked around, finding yourself back in your bedroom. The pain subsided, you took a breath and loosened your body.

"Here, it's still warm." Sebastian offered you a cup of tea which you gladly accept. You sighed heavily, wiping your face. "How are you feeling?"

You didn't exactly know how to answer that. The whole thing was not new for you. Those attacks had happened before. You're just grateful that now someone was there for you. "It always happens... Every once in a while." You admitted, earning a gentle squeeze from him.

"I... I don't know... I just... I want to be free from that. Like... Living like this... It's like a curse." You sat up, burying your head between your knees. Though the nightmare passed, deep down, you felt the darkness eating you, waiting for the right moment to assault you again. And you couldn't resist.

Sebastian watched you broke down. He wanted to put out his theory, but he didn't want to burden you with his hypothesis. "Do you... Want to talk about it?"

Slowly, you looked up at him. Seeing him there, willing to listen to you, you were satisfied. You had never shared your troubles with anyone before, and you felt relieved when you had someone to share with. And you were glad it was him.

You took a deep breath, "It's the same... I've had it before." You told him everything, every detail you could make. You somehow felt comfortable talking it out as if a huge pressure was lifted from your heart.

Sebastian hummed as his response, processing your words. "Well... Here's what I say." He closed in on you, grabbing both of your hands, and gave them a light kiss. "You are not a curse... You're the strongest girl I know. And I know you can fight it. Don't ever think that you are not strong enough." He advised. Your heart warmed at that, making your lips turn slightly. He got up, kissing you on your forehead.

"Look around. Look how lucky you are to be alive right now. You have your friends who care for you, that trio, even your bloody reaper friend..." He smiled at you to which you replied with a subtle laugh. He pressed his hand to your cheek, gently caressing his thumb over it. "And you have me."

"Alright?"

You pondered a while and nodded. "Alright..." You reassured. You breathed out another sigh. "Although, I have a question for you."

"What?" You gently stood up, looking up at him. "Do you... by any chance... know your father? I mean really know who he was?" He turned back to you. You stared at him, thinking why he asked about it. "No... I was too young when he left. My mother told me he died soon but I don't know. I just thought maybe he hated him that much." You explained. You saw Sebastian nodded when you called him back. "Why did you ask all of a sudden?"

"... No reason."

"Okay, you're kinda freaking me out." You said, stopping in front of him. He raised his hands, reassuring you. "No, believe me. It was nothing. I was curious." He said, walking past you. "When you're done and feeling well, meet me in the kitchen, kitten." He glanced at you before he left your room.

His question kept passing your mind. What was that about?
