『Chapter 27』

Your eyes never left William as he practised his performance. "I'm still curious about him. If there are no children here. Or dead children, why is he here?" You asked, looking back to Sebastian. You noticed Ciel was burdened by Dagger who was trying to get him to practice. Sebastian hummed in response, walking up beside you.

"Let's see if I can figure something out," he said as he left you to talk to that reaper. You didn't quite like where this was going. Sebastian told you that his history with William was not that good of a story.

"Well, Let's just hope no one dies tonight," You shrugged, mumbling to yourself. Sebastian tried to plead with William but he, being the strong head he was, refused and shook him off. Their encounter earned a lot of stares, although Dagger assumed that they both were just getting along. But apparently, they were not. You there your head back, crossing your arms in your chest and made your way up to them.

"Alright, girls! Can you keep it down?!" You raised your voice the second you got their attention. The both of them looked at you as you pointed out the exit, "Outside!" William turned to you, "Y/n, you don't know—"

You held a finger up to him, stopping his words. "Up-up-up. Shut up... Go." You glared at him. William huffed a breath and turned to Sebastian. "You're lucky she's with you." He said before walking off the tent. You smiled in triumph as Sebastian chuckled. "It's amazing how you can tame that man."

"Well, he's not lying and you owe me. Go!" You said. Sebastian stole a quick kiss to your cheek before sprinting out. You placed a hand to where his lips landed, blushing at the fact that he showed affection in public. "Ugh, that damn demon!"

You shook your head, turning around to go back to training, as they said. "Hey, Wonder!" Dagger came across you. You put up a small smile, waving a hand to him.

"Say, I really admire your skill. Your reflexes are amazing! Anywho, you looked like you've known each other with Suit." Said Dagger, glancing out the exit. You raised a brow at his sudden question, thinking about what should you say. "Oh, ... I think I met him a while ago... That's it." You shrugged it off, walking beside him. You figured this was a perfect moment you could dig more about the case.

"Hey, Dagger, speaking of knowing each other, how did you guys get together? All of you first-stringers seems like more than friends." You spoke up, putting your hands behind your back. Dagger stared at the distance for a few seconds before turning back to you. "Well, actually, we came together. We've known each other before we held the circus." He let out a brief explanation. You nodded, taking mental notes to tell that to the two later.

You halted your tracks as he did and decided to ask once more. "How did you guys run this circus?" You hoped he didn't suspect anything. Luckily, he put up a small smile and answered, "That was all Joker and... Our ring leader. He's not here. So he left it to Joker." as he put his hands on his hip, facing you. He released a light chuckle, "Hey, you think you could call Black and Suit out there? It's almost showtime." You glanced out the exit, spotting the two males out there. Turning back to Dagger, you gave him a subtle nod. "Sure, leave it to me." You left him to went after the two creatures, hopefully, they didn't kill each other. 

You mapped out how you would tell the new info you gained to Ciel as you halted right ahead of the two males. You shook your head at their childish argument. "Oh, will you shut up!" You raised your voice, placing both of your hands on your hip. The both of them turned to you, closing their mouths. 

William was the first to speak up. "Ah, Y/n. I didn't get the chance to say it the first time but we meet again. So, you didn't tell me that you're bond with this demon." William remarked as he adjusted his glasses, taking a glance at Sebastian. You let out a long, tired sigh, "Can you like... Keep it down? This place is full of humans, you're lucky they took it as a joke before." You shook your head at him, turning your head to Sebastian. "Anyway, Sebastian, you told him?" You hissed to him.

"He was asking how you were," Sebastian simply replied, sending a deadly stare to William across him. "Alright Fine! Whatever. Just get back in there!" You threw your hands in the air.

Before you could even turn around, William spoke up, stopping your movements, "There's no way I'm working with this demon." Yougrianed softly, pinching the bridge of your nose, "Dammit, William! Look, if you can't blend with the situation here, then you're worse than that red-headed shit!" You snapped at him. Surprisingly, he looked rather surprised. 

"Indeed. Now, we won't interfere with you as long as you won't interfere with us either. Agreed?" Said Sebastian as he turned back to William, following your words.

"Excellent, since I despise the very sight of you." William finally agreed. You smiled at that, "Perfect. Then we won't interfere with each other."

"Well then, Wonder. Keep your soulmate away from me." William said, propping his glasses with his scythe.

"Whatever, four-eyes." You scoffed.

"I thought we'd be playing our cover here. So call me Suit!" William remarked, looking up the dark sky and stabbing his scythe to the ground.

You raised a brow to him, "Right... Let's go, Sebastian." You walked away with Sebastian following you behind.

After the show for the day ended, you were gathered by Joker along with Sebastian, Ciel and William. He walked in front of you, holding up a piece of paper. "Now the moment you've been waiting for. The tent assignment!" You crossed your arms on your chest, waiting for his announcement.

"Smile, you'll be staying in tent eight and this is your roommate." Joker paired Ciel aka Smile, with a boy, who had brown hair whose bangs were covering his left eye. He was about his age, at least that was what you think.

"Black, you'll be staying in tent nine!" Joker continued to read the paper out loud. With that information, Ciel jumped down from the crate he was sitting on and complained. He requested Sebastian to be in the same tent as him.

"Come on, Smile! Time to be independent!" Dagger chuckled, patting his head. Ciel grimaced silently, "I'd rather Black to be—..." He didn't get to finish his words was as Joker read the paper aloud once more.

"And Black's roommate will be... Suit!" Joker finished, turning up to William with a smile. The second you hear those words, you burst into laughter, considering they were practically rivals. William and Sebastian looked like the world around them just came crashing down ahead of them as they stared into each other's eyes

Joker was one to follow your energy, "Look at them, they're delighted!" He said. "I know!" You took in a breath, wiping up your tears of laughter whilst holding your stomach.

"How about I stay with Wonder, then?" Ciel stepped up. Joker denied his request, eyes landing back on the paper in his hand. "Hmm... No. Wonder is a girl, and you're not a pervert are you now? Also, she's on tent eleven, with another member, you'll meet her in your tent." Joker looked to Ciel then to you, gesturing to his paper. He told Dagger to come with him as he left the five of you.

An awkward silence passed through, the tension grew more in each second until you cut it. "That went well... Alright, I'm going to turn it in. Night!" You started, waving them goodbye as you walked to your tent. You scanned each tent you passed until you spotted yours. You prayed you didn't get a loud roommate. To your surprise, it was empty. You couldn't care less about it and settled in your tent.
