If anything, you wished not to be here. You never liked nobles, but you sensed something different coming from Ciel. You knew he would probably ask you various questions, the thought of it made you internally complain as Sebastian opened the door to his study.

"I have brought her, young master," Sebastian stated, stepping into the room. Ciel hummed in response, gesturing you to come in. "Take a seat, Y/n." He motioned to the chair across his desk.

You clutched onto your dress as you took a seat across his desk. Ciel put down his pen from writing on a paper, he put his hands under his chin as he focused on you. Weird, you thought. He was a child yet he acted like some kind of King. He was a noble, yes, but still. Sebastian walked beside him, serving him a cup of tea.

"How are you enjoying it here?" The same question repeated from him now. You held back an eye roll and nodded subtly. "Well... It's nicer... Than anything else that I had experienced. I guess I should thank you for the opportunity." You answered shortly.

"Before anything, I ordered Sebastian to find out who you are, so you may predict that I know what you are and you know the deal between me and Sebastian." Ciel began, eye focusing on you. You refused to continue to meet his gaze for a while, keeping up a straight face. "I suppose..." You grumbled, eyes lingering on Sebastian, sending him a glare.

"I know it's hard, but do you mind telling me about yourself? Maybe places you've worked before." Ciel gestured his words with his hands. You refused to respond to him for a few seconds, arguing whether should you tell him or not. You stared at the young boy as you couldn't believe you let a boy cracked you up.

You sighed before finally answering him, "Yes... Well, long story short, my mother's human while my father's a demon... That's all I can tell you about my folks." You simply replied. Ciel hummed, adding to your sentence, "So, how did you end up in the streets then?"

Was he serious? The audacity of this kid. You didn't bother to answer his next question, staring at him dead in the eyes. You leaned back on your chair, putting your hands on your lap. Figuring you wouldn't answer anytime soon, Ciel sighed, closing his eye. "Fine. What about your previous job?"

"Rowthorn? Yeah, I never liked working for him." You scoffed, putting one leg over another. "I heard about him, Darrius Rowthorn. He died in a fire, his legacy died with him. The fire... I'm guessing... You?" Ciel implied, raising his brow. You clicked your tongue, "You had to ask?"

"Hm. How'd you end up with him?" He asked more questions that started itch you. You gripped onto the fabric of your skirt and answered shortly, "I was trafficked."

The answer caused both Ciel and Sebastian to stare at you with wide eyes. You started to feel uneasy, shifting in your seat, glueing your gaze to the window behind Ciel. "Rowthorn... Enslaved me... The only thing I could be thankful for... is he not taking advantage of me... Sexually." You stammered, looking down to the floor. You put a hand to your head, just thinking about your past caused you a headache, and Ciel kept attacking you with subjects you didn't want to talk about was not helping at all.

"I'm... Sorry to hear that..." Ciel spoke up. You kept massaging your temple as he continued to nag you with questions. "And... Trancy—”

"I ran away after the fire and he found me, kept me under his wings for years." You interrupted him quickly, not wanting to hear another out of his mouth. You tapped your foot, getting impatient as Ciel knitted his brows, glancing at Sebastian. "Right, but what about—”

You forced a smile, gripping onto the armrests of your chair. You didn't like where this was going, he was pushing all your buttons. "I'm afraid you've asked enough, Earl." You tried to keep a straight face, hoping for him to shut his mouth. "There's just one more thing—”

You acted on your own, suddenly standing up from your seat, his teacup shook as you banged your fists to his desk, "I said enough!" You gritted your teeth, glaring down at him.

"Why do you want me here anyway? Bugging me by asking where I'm from?! You think just because you're rich, I should tell you everything?!" You shouted, fingers digging onto the black wood of the desk. You didn't care if he was gonna kick you out or anything, you felt bothered by him digging on you, it was too personal. Sebastian was about to hold you back, that was until Ciel's flat lips curved into a smirk. Your mouth gaped at his sudden change, confusing you.

"That..." He spoke up, breaking the tension. You frowned, taking yourself away from his desk. "I need that from you. Your boldness." He continued, picking his cup and swirling it in his hands. You were still trying to make out whatever he was carrying out as he took a sip. Even Sebastian was shocked at his master's intentions.

"Though a woman shouldn't bear such attitude." Ciel let out shortly. You shook your head, sitting back down. "I missed the part where I understand what're you trying to say."

"From the rumours that spread around the town, I thought I could get you under my command, and I did. I need your boldness to stand against my enemies." Ciel continued, putting his cup to the saucer. He cast another smirk, "Not to mention your strength. The other servants may match your strengths, but they're... Well... Clumsy."

You kept your eyes on him, studying his intention. It made you curious if you're being honest. "Your determination. I admire it. Stand with me against my enemies, and you're welcome here, and we'll treat you the way you want."

It took you a few seconds to progress his words. You shook your head once more, pointing out a finger. "So... You don't mind me being... Me?"

Ciel acknowledged your words. "Only to things I considered a threat, not to my guest. In the meantime, I think Sebastian should teach you manners." He motioned his hand to Sebastian beside him. You scrunched your nose, glancing at Sebastian, who already had his eyes on you. You muttered under your breath and sighed, "Fine if you insist."

Ciel let out an amused smile, he got what he wanted. He opened his hands, "Thank you, then. You're dismissed." That was the last thing he said as he glanced at the door. Your eyes never left the boy as you stood up.

This boy... This boy has goals...

You took a glimpse at Sebastian before you walked to the door, finally exiting his quarters.

"Interesting, master. You didn't even tell me the reason you want her under your wings." Sebastian merely chuckled, amused at his master's motive. Ciel hummed, focusing back on his paperwork.

"As I said, her audacity, none of the other servants have them. Not to mention you're interested in her, are you not?" The question caused Sebastian to froze for a while. He lingered his eyes on the young boy, letting out a subtle chuckle.

"What if I do?" He replied with another question. "Just don't let it entangle with your jobs." Ciel ordered as Sebastian bowed halfway, "Yes, my Lord."
