"I envied the rain, it fell down his body imitating my hands."

"What's in the box?" Sodapop asked as I laid down on the bed. I ran my fingers over the delicate painting on it. Two sunflowers were sitting on the top. "Those are real nice. The flowers."

"Yeah." I whispered. I hadn't opened the box yet, i was too afraid. "Hey Cola, do you think Dallas is okay for me?"

"I- I don't know." He breathed in slowly. "You guys fight a whole lot but you seem to be doing alright. I know he loves you but never says it. And I know you love him but never say it. You both know it but never show it."

"The night we saw Packer... I was watching him as he drove and I was just in shock that he was mine when he told me to stop looking at him like we were in love. Soda I think you're wrong for once." I know what I heard that night, but I still didn't believe it. Dallas wasn't in love with me. Or maybe I was just stuck in some fairy tale. Like Cinderella. Where her life was pretty shit until she met the prince and everything was okay.

"Do you trust me Ky?"

"Yes."

"Then trust me one this one."

The sun melted into the horizon as we drove. Dallas sat beside me looking off into the road. The road was empty as we drove through the country. The sky was a mural of my thoughts. There were no words to describe how it would make you feel. You know how when you drop something and miraculously catch it in some really cool way? Those few seconds after it happens, when everyone starts to shout and smile, that feeling in those seconds is what I felt as I sat beside Dallas at that moment. I wanted to live in that moment forever. The wind whipped my hair in every direction. The radio played a song we didn't know but we still tapped our feet to it. I looked at Dallas who looked back at me. I would lose him one day. But that day won't be today so it's okay. Forever isn't always as long as it seems. Sometimes forever isn't real. I like that word- forever. I love that forever doesn't exist but we still have a word for it. And we use it all the time. Forever is a beautiful and doomed word.

"Darry. There's someone inside the house." The lights were on as we pulled up to our home. This was home to all 8 of us.

"I know. Just go." He winked at Dallas who covered my eyes and walked me up to the door.

"What is itttt!?!?" I groaned as he led me through the house. "You know I can walk without you right?"

"Shut it kitten and look." He removed his hands to reveal a room A new room I had never seen before.

"What-

"Now you have your own room Kaya. I had some friends come in while we were gone and remodel Mom and Dad's room. Alex and Adam helped with the decor." Darry said smiling. I hugged him and he hugged me back. He might be nearly the closest I would ever get to a brother.

"Thankyou so so so much Darry!!!" I walked into the room which was painted a  powder blue with a mirror with lights on one wall with a desk with some makeup I wouldn't use, a big comfy bed, a radio and a book shelf. There was also another shelf with some plants and cds and more room for storage. The closet already had most of my clothes in it organized by color. Alex.

"Now we can fuck in private." Dallas said as he kissed my neck from behind. I laughed as I set my glasses on the desk. The duvet on the bed was also powder blue but had some grey to it. I sat down as softly and slowly as I could, not wanting to mess it up.

"This is... great." I said looking at Dal. How would I sleep without Sodapop? I'd gotten so used to the feeling of his body beside me, so used to him calming me after my nightmares. Him coaxing me to sleep when I couldn't.
