"If I killed myself right now the stars would still shine, the sun would still come out, the Earth would still rotate, the seasons will still change... so why not?"

"Get your dog away from me." Stormy climbed up in between Dallas and I on the bed.

"Oh stop it, he just needs some love." His golden fur tangled around my finger.

"And I need some sleep." He turned around to face away from us. Then it all broke.

I laid on the sofa with Stormy, Ponyboy too, listening to the rain. I heard footsteps coming towards us so I covered the dog with the blanket.

"Kaya. Come back I'm tired." I got up, with Stormy, and walked back to my room.

"Night Pony." I whispered to the half asleep horse man propped up against the wall. He lifted his head slightly to acknowledge me. I crawled into to bed. When he snuggled in between us this time, Dallas let him.

"I need to find Dallas so I'm gonna head out now." I slid out Alex's window and started to walk away.

"KAYA WAIT!!!" Adam jumped out of his window and ran up to me. "You cant be walkin' alone out here!!! It's almost dark."

"I'm just goin to Bucks. Just go home, I'm fine." I pulled my switchblade from my pocket and flashed it to Adam.

"Okay. Be careful."

The sun set in front of me and I walked to Bucks. I zoned out a bit as I admired it. Dallas doesn't like sunsets. I reminded myself. He likes sunrises. I knew that I knew a side of Dallas that no one else did, and I really didn't see it at all. Dallas still had some good left in him. My thoughts were rudely interrupted by a car engine revving behind me. "Hey Grease!! Watcha doin walkin by your lonesome?"

"Just headin' to get a drink. Care to join?" I sarcastically asked back. I turned around to find Bob and his little gang of shits. Randy sat on the window sill in the passenger seat of the Blue Mustang. Bob had a nice car but bad personality.

"We were thinkin' something else." He smirked and I smiled back. I was running, blade in hand, before he could hit the brakes.

The adrenaline I had long missed, kept me running. Just one block until Bucks. I knew what they would do to me but I stilled slowed down to tease them. But I shouldn't  have. One boy was right behind me and grabbed me just as I slowed to turn around. I could see Bucks and hear the music coming from inside. Before I could do anything Bob had me pressed against a building wall, holding me by the neck. I tightened around my blade and smirked as I swung my arms to hit the side of his face. As he stumbled a little I brought the blade to his lips.

"Touch me and I'll cut off his lips." I sat on top of Bob and smiled at the 3 boys who stared at my hand. Suddenly another body pushed me off. A fourth boy that I hadn't seen. Bob took my blade as he pushed me against the wall again. I struggled to get free. Scream. I told myself. And I did, which only earned a blow to the head from one of the boys. Randy. I felt blood creep down my face.

"Stupid bitch. Where's your little boyfriend? Oh Dallas!!! Come save your damsel in distress!!" He shouted as the rest of the boys laughed.

"I don't need saving pretty boy." I smirked as he rolled his eyes. "But I might need something new. Maybe I'll take you up on that offer." I nearly had my lips against Bob's to distract him while I took my blade and kicked him in the groin. I started to run but they caught me again. The rocks on the ground cut me as they pushed me to the ground.

He kicked me in the stomach, it felt like there was a boulder being dropped on me over and over and over again. I could take hits but now it's like I was getting weak. He hit me across the face with his buddies, rings on most of their fingers. Blood spilled from my mouth and cheek. My vision went blurry and I fought back. There were too many. I felt my jeans start to unbutton.
