The walk down into the depths to Valentine's cell was almost too easy. Echo stood next to Alec and Magnus as Isabelle and Jace's team put cuffs on Valentine and pushed him out of the cell. Seeing Valentine with chains around his body made Echo smirk.

"Valentine Morgenstern," Alec's voice echoed in the vastness of the dungeon, "by order of the Clave you are hereby remanded to the Gard of Idris."

Isabelle gave one glance at Magnus and the Warlock snapped his fingers and opened a portal by their side.

The wind that came from the portal blew Echo's black hair from her shoulders. Echo could feel the magic that emitted from the golden portal.

"I may be in a cell," Valentine's voice was rough and quiet, "but at least I'll be in Alicante. Where the air doesn't reek of Downworlders."

Echo kept her face straight, but she could feel the conflicting emotions from Alec and Magnus.

Alec let out a breath, "Get him out of here."

Isabelle and Jace were the first to walk through the portal with two other Shadowhunters to follow. Echo watched each person, but she let out an uneasy breath as she watched Valentine and Duncan. Echo took a step forward as Duncan placed a hand on Valentine's shoulder and Echo could clearly see that their destination wasn't Alicante.

"Wait!"

Valentine and Duncan didn't miss a beat as they walked through the portal.

The last two Shadowhunters looked back at Echo, but Alec waved them through and the portal was closed in a matter of seconds. Echo shook her head.

"I don't think Valentine is in Alicante."

Alec shook his head, "What are you talking about?"

Echo looked up at him, "Duncan touched him. He had a different destination in mind." Echo's sudden thought was taken away by the flutter in her stomach.

Echo shook her head, "Valentine is gone. You need to find him."

Echo was quick to leave after her tone had changed drastically. Alec noticed the change and quickly grabbed her arm to get her to turn around.
"Hey, what's wrong?"

Echo shook her head, "Just...I need to talk to somebody." Echo pulled her arm from Alec and vanished into the air.

Her feet landed on the grass outside of the institute and she was quick to say a name, "Echo."

The young teenager walked from around the building's corner, "You called?"

Echo felt her own fear, "What is happening to the baby?"

Echoette took a few steps closer and looked down at Echo's stomach, "She is growing. Nothing is wrong."

Echo swallowed, "She's growing too fast. Slow it down."

Echoette shook her head, "I cannot. Your child is at fifteen weeks and I cannot stop it or slow it down."

Echo's eyes went wide, "Fifteen weeks? I found out about this a week ago!"

Echoette let her face show how sorry she was, "Perhaps it is time to tell the others. At this rate, your child will be born within the next two months."

Echo let out a breath, "No."

Echoette let the silence go on for a moment before she slowly spoke, "I can...I can take the child from you."

Echo furrowed her brows, "What?"

Echoette swallowed, "I can...abort the child."

Echo sucked in a breath and placed her hands on her stomach, "Are you kidding me?"
