It was my 30th birthday and if you include our breaks in between, Owen and I have been together for a year and a half.

After our final reunion after being separated for 4 months, Owen was called by his commanding officer to train the new recruits.  I told him he should go and discuss what else needed to be discussed.
That was 4 months ago.  Owen had been so busy, he couldn't talk on the phone, until now.

My FaceTime started to ring.  I grabbed my phone and saw that it was Owen.  I pushed accept on the call and saw his handsome face.

"Hey.  Happy birthday beautiful."

"Thank you."  I said sitting back.

"Where are you?"  He asked.

"Business trip with your mom and Dad.  When are you going to be home?"  I asked.

"Hopefully soon.  This temporary thing has been more than temporary.  Do you miss me?"

"Of course I do.  I have a surprise for you.  Do you want to know now or do you want to wait until you see me?"

"Good surprise or bad surprise?"

"Definitely good."  I said.

"Well if I know now I can arrange it so I will be home."  He said.

"Hold on."  I set the phone down.

"A white ceiling."  He said making me laugh.  I got up, my hand pressed against my back for added support.  I grabbed my phone.

"Did you get my letter?"

"Yes and I haven't opened it like you requested."

"Open it."  I said.  I heard the sound of tearing paper and then the sound of crinkling paper.

"Dear husband,". He said.  "Oh I like this already."  I laughed.  "By now you have finally gotten the chance to call me.  Which could mean a few things.  The picture below could be either current or out dated, but the good news is it is real like my love for you.  P.s. you and condoms don't mix."  He looked at me through the phone.  I laughed at his reaction.  He looked back at the paper and then back at me.

I flipped the camera around standing in front of the mirror.  "Congratulations daddy."  I said showing him my baby bump.

"Oh my god."  He said.  I flipped the camera back again and he had tears in his eyes.

"4 months along and doing perfect."  I said.

"Where are you?"  He asked.

"Down in Florida."  I said.  Miami."

"How long are you going to be there?"

"A week or so."  I said.

"I'll be there tonight.  What hotel?"

"Hotel Riu Plaza."  I said.

"I'll see you soon okay?  I love you."

"I love you too."  I ended the call and slid my hand over my baby bump.  "Daddy's coming."  I said sitting down on the bed.

A knock on the door caught my attention then I heard the locks click and Owen's Mom appeared.  "How are we doing honey?"

"Great.  Owen's coming."  I said happily.

"What'd he say about the baby?"

"He's happy."

"Don't worry when he gets here we won't use the key and barge in."  She said teasingly.  She sat down beside me.

"I appreciate everything you have ever done for me."

"You're our daughter.  You're so good for Owen.  He needs you.  Without you I never would have gotten my son back."  She said.  "Has the baby been moving much?"

"On occasion.  She seems pretty relax."

"She?"

"Just a guess.  I picture a baby girl."  I said.

"Owen would love to have another girl to spoil."  She said.  "Or a little boy to teach boy stuff too."

That night, I was in the hotel dining area with Owen's parents.  I glanced toward the doorway feeling eyes on me.  I saw Owen and excused myself.  His mom and Dad looked and saw Owen.  I stood up and slipped through.  He met me halfway catching me in his arms.  He sighed with relief pressing his face into my neck.

I laughed feeling the baby kick.  Owen pulled away putting his hand on my baby bump.  "Someone is happy that daddy is here."  He smiled and kissed me caressing my face with his hands.

"I've missed you so much."  He said between kisses.

"I've missed you too."  I said.  I took his hand and led the way to the table.  He was hugged by his parents.

After dinner, Owen was walking beside me on the beach, my hand in his.  "Are there any risks?  I mean since your other miscarriages?"

"The doctor is worried about that yes, but since we are 4 months along, she thinks we are in the clear and should have a safe and healthy delivery."

"Good."  He said.

"We have some catching up to do.  Let's go back to the hotel."  He put his arm around me kissing my forehead.

His lips were on mine as soon as the door closed for the room.  He made sure the other lock was in place, lifted me carefully, carrying me to bed.

After reuniting in the best way possible, I was curled up beside him my head resting on his pillow beside his head.  One hand resting on his shoulder the other on my baby bump.  He brushed his fingertips over the back of my neck.

"That was...."

"Amazing."  I finished for him making him chuckle.

"It always is, but wow."  He said.  "It didn't hurt the baby right?"

"It didn't hurt the baby.  Promise."  I slid my hand over his cheek and kissed his jaw.

"You're going to get me started again."  He said pulling me on top of him.

"That's the plan."  I said with a smile.    He smiled kissing me.
