—-ZaylaOwen and I were basically starting over, he had extreme patience with me and in his words, he was glad he got the opportunity fall in love with me all over again and to show me how much he loves me. I was sitting in the kitchen looking at the paper. "Missing and assumed dead wife of business man Owen Vance in fact alive and well."
"Hm, I made the paper." I said when Owen came in.
"Oh really? Did they get a picture of your beautiful face?" He asked.
"Nah. They got yours." I said making him smile.
"It's been 3 months, want to go out for dinner tonight? I'm sure you find me a pretty safe guy to be with." He said.
"Sure." I said.
"Awesome. If you need anything at all mom's here. I have to go to work for a short time. If you need me call me. I wrote the number down for you if you need it."
"Okay. Thank you." I said. Before he walked away, I hugged his waist leaning my head on his chest. "Thank you for everything you've done for me. I feel like such a burden."
"You aren't a burden. You've always been my wife and nothing can change that. I'm in love with you. I'll never stop being in love with you." He kissed my hair. "I have to go to work. I'll be home in a couple of hours."
"Okay." I let him go.
That afternoon, Owen sent me a text telling him he was on his way. I was sitting on the porch with Rosie watching the kids play with Dingo and Dino. I saw a black van pull up. My instincts kicked in to protect the kids. My kids. "Kids inside." I said. Dingo and Dino saw the van and started growling and barking. I whistled for them to come in too. The kids went inside and the dogs did too. I saw a woman get out.
"There you are. You weren't supposed to run away."
"I don't know who you are. Leave now before Owen gets home."
"Honey, Owen doesn't know you. He just feels sorry for you. Come home with us."
"No. I'm needed here." I said.
"He's just using you."
"No he's not." Some guys got out of the van and came after me. I went inside and locked the door. "Upstairs in the closet." I said. They went upstairs and I followed them. The door slammed open and I was grabbed, I bashed my head on the wall.

I slammed on my brakes and threw the truck in park. My dad followed me inside. I grabbed the guy who had Zayla and threw him across the room. He hit the wall losing consciousness. The other two ran off. Dad tied the guy up. I got beside Zayla. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked her.
"I think so." She said letting me help her up. She touched the back of her head and moved her hand. She saw the blood. "Ouch." She stumbled slightly before she went down. I caught her and scooped her up.
The police arrived just as I took Zayla outside. "He's tied up. The other two took off."

I woke up with a fright, I sat up and grabbed the back of my head. "Ouch."
"Relax. Sit back okay?" Owen helped me sit back.
"Owen, did I ruin her birthday?" I asked.
"What?" He asked.
"Angel's birthday." I said.
"Zayla..."
"Did they do the surgery?"
"Zayla, it's been over a year."
"W-what?"
"Zayla, you had surgery a little over a year ago. A nurse told me you died. I went a year thinking you were dead. Then I found you almost 4 months ago. Y-you can remember?" He asked. I nodded. He hugged me tight pressing his face into my neck.
One month later, I was doing better with the head injury and the memory loss. Owen had so much patience with me. I was sitting on the couch at home with Owen. The kids were at school, the boys in first grade and Angel got into preschool early. Owen's arm around me as we watched the movie. I moved over climbing into his lap.
"What're we doing?" He asked.
"Important stuff." I said kissing him. He responded to my kiss instantly. He slid his hands over my back. "I need you. Please." I said parting from him briefly. "Please Owen." I said leaning my head against his, his nose brushed against mine.
"We should probably go upstairs." He stood up carrying me upstairs.
I moved beside him catching my breath. "No time is like the first. Every time is so much better than the last." He said. "Want to go again?" He asked.
"No. You have to go get the kids in like an hour." I said putting on his t-shirt. "You can take a shower with me only if you promise to shower." I said looking at him.
"What if I try to promise?" He asked with a smile. I rolled my eyes and went into the bathroom. I stood under the sprayer running my hands through my hair. "I took your reaction as a yes." He said in my ear. "Too bad I'm bad at trying to keep those promises." He made me laugh.
That night, I was laying beside Owen with my feet up, he was lounging beside me watching me. "What?" I asked.
"Nothing. I just love you more than anything in this entire world."
"I love you too." I said.
"Oh yeah, how much?" He teased.
"Haven't decided." I said laughing as he tackled me.
