Percy stood there, completely lost, everyone else seemed shocked the girl called him by his last name. They all looked around at each other wide-eyed, but he didn't see the big deal.
"I must be psychic!" Leo hollered, proudly.
Jason's brow furrowed, "It must be just a coincidence, that can't be the future! Annabeth would never—" But it seemed he couldn't finish that sentence.
"Okay, anyone want to explain to me what's going on?!" Percy asked forcefully, obviously annoyed.
Hazel fiddled with her fingers and Frank just stared at his feet. So Piper took a step forward, thinking she could do the best job of explaining, while still keeping Percy calm.
"Um, well we decided, so as to not confuse you with the old Percy we'll just call you, 'Jackson'. Unless you prefer something else?" she asked unsurely.
Percy frowned, "Huh? The old Percy? You mean the one from Ancient Greece? Zeus's son?"
Realizing their slip up they all quickly smiled and nodded.
"Yep, that's the one!'' Piper fibbed, realized he wouldn't understand how he'd changed.
Percy shrugged, "Um, okay. That's a little weird. Why aren't we calling Jason, 'Grace', he was named after an Ancient Greece hero too."
They all froze. Crap, everyone thought simultaneously.
"Because he's Roman?" Frank muttered, quietly, as if afraid to speak. Leo's jokes must have gotten to him.
"Yeah, because he's Roman!" Hazel quickly burst.
"Right, okay. You guys call me whatever the heck you wanna," Percy said, plopping down comfortably on the couch.
"Whew," everyone let out a brief sigh. Crisis averted.
Frank quickly sat down, with his hand on his heart, breathing slowly as if trying to calm down.
Percy smirked, "Calm down, jeez! I don't bite," he said tauntingly, "unless provoked..." he whispered to Frank.
Frank shivered, but Hazel quickly sat down next to him and clasped his hand warmly and loving.
"Don't be a jerk, Frank's sensitive!" someone yelled.
Percy flinched, looking around, the voice had sounded close as if it were right next to him. But he didn't see anyone else react to the protective voice... that sounded oddly familiar.
"Who said that?" Percy muttered, his eyes darting around the room, slowly standing up.
Jason frowned, "What are you talking about?"
"Did no one else hear that?" Percy squirmed, he felt weird, then all a sudden it was like his brain decided to light itself on fire, "Ahh!"
He screamed, his knees buckled and he fell hard to the ground. His hands grabbing his head and pulling at his hair.
Everyone surged forward, Will first, shoving a big golden pill down Percy's throat. Percy choked before swallowing the big pill, feeling better after a few seconds.
"W-What was that?" he gasped, in between breaths.
"Ambrosia painkiller pill. I'd been working on it for a while with Annabeth, but we didn't have a chance to try it out yet," Will said, as he instantly started checking Percy's vitals and finding everything in mint condition, "Now what the heck just happened?!"
Percy sighed, pushing himself off the floor, his knees still weak, he used his arms to pull himself onto the couch, "It felt like a migraine. Like my brain was being split in two! Ripping itself apart, and I couldn't stop it."
Percy looked at Chiron, "Is that a regular demigod thing?" he asked with a smirk.
Chiron looked lost in thought and didn't bother answering.
Frank spoke up, rubbing the back of his neck, "That kinda sounds like when my Dad and his Greek side were fighting inside my head. Did you hear any voices?"
Percy frowned, "Yeah, one. It sounded familiar..."
"Like your father?" Hazel asked.
"Honestly, for a second I thought it was me talking. But the voice sounded more..." he thought for a moment, "sad and... protective, I guess?"
Reyna frowned, looking at Piper, muttering, "Like the old Percy."
