16| Reyna Tells It Like It Is

Percy snickered, demigods were too easy to scare. He almost gets one puny little demigod killed and everyone freaks  out! 

He walked up to the big hill, by the strawberry field. Sitting down on the grass, he remembered Annabeth loved to sit up here and read while the sun was still coming up, she said she liked to see the camp wake up.

Then he groaned, a sharp pain erupting in his head, then the memory was just gone leaving no trace. Leaving Percy a bit confused.

"Percy?!" 

He jumped up, hearing a squeaky female voice, someone who had obviously been crying.

"Hazel?" he muttered under his breath, as Hazel Levesque practically tackled him with a hug. 

Behind her stood Frank Zhang, and Reyna Ramirez-Arellano.

A little irritated he pushed Hazel off him, "What's up with you?" Percy asked, looking down to see her face smeared with tears.

She sniffled, "Reyna told me about Annabeth, and we came as soon as we could! How are you doing?" looking at him with wide concerned eyes.

Percy looked around as if seeing if there was someone else she was talking to. He rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be? You should probably go ask Pipes though, she seemed pretty torn up about her friend," Percy said, shrugging.

Hazel nodded, not looking surprised, she pulled him into another hug, "Oh Percy, always trying to be strong for everyone else around you. It's okay to feel sad."

Percy groaned, "Will you stop that?! Ugh. I don't understand why everyone thinks I  would care! I mean she had friends and family! Go comfort them!  I didn't even know the girl!" He threw his hands up in the air, as he started walking back down the hill.

As they went back into camp many campers, carefully avoiding Percy, ran to give hugs and welcome the three Romans.

"Hmph," Percy groaned, leaning on the side of the mess hall. He watched Piper, Jason, and Leo give hugs and the girls shed some tears (as well as Frank).

Hazel said something, pointing over to Percy and all three of Piper, Jason, and Leo's eyes widened. 

"He didn't, like, throw you in the lake or anything, right?" Leo asked, nervously.

Percy rolled his eyes, walking over to the demigods. "Now why would I do that?" he said sarcastically, draping his arm over Reyna.

Reyna quickly and swiftly swatted Percy's arm away, "Who are  you?!" she asked accusingly.

He raised his brow, "Percy Jackson?" he smirked, but the words seemed awkward in his mouth.

Reyna shook her head, "That  you are definitely not.  I've met Percy Jackson and you are not him," she said, looking at him with a piercing cold glare.

Percy met her glare squarely, but his eyes were chaotic and destructive while her's stayed calm and accusing. 

There was a scary silence as all the demigods stood frozen.

Leo laughed awkwardly trying to lighten the mood and break the silence, so maybe these two feuding demigods wouldn't kill each other.

 "Haha, well I don't know about you, but I'm starving!" he grabbed Hazel and Frank dragging them out of the space in between Percy and Reyna, whispering, "I think I just saved your lives, now let's let the pro's handle this one." 

He quickly led Frank and Hazel off towards the dining hall.

As soon as they were a safe distance away Jason sprang towards Reyna, "Listen, Percy really isn't himself right now--"

Reyna raised her hand up, cutting him off, "I'm well aware of the situation. Your girlfriend  took it upon herself to mind control her grieving friend and make matters worse," she said in a scarily calm voice, not taking her eyes off Percy.

Percy gave a bewildered look, "What the heck are you talking about now?"

Piper just lowered her head, staring at her shoes. 

Jason quickly grabbed her hand, "We  made a mistake, we're trying to fix it. And it would help if you two would stop the death glares and help us."

Reyna frowned, "You mean Nico hasn't told you about his dream yet? Have you sent no one to save Annabeth?!"
