"Why do I have to decide? Make Chiron," Nico frowned.
"Yeah, I'm lost. Camp Half-Blood has lower ranked demigods choose quest members?" Hazel asked, brow raised in innocent confusion.
Leo rolled his eyes, "No, first of all, we don't have ranks... and second the quest leader always decides who's coming, well, I mean, most of the time. But I mean Chiron has to approve it first,"
Frank cocked his head, "So it is all Nico's choice," he seemed fascinated by the Greek's custom.
Nico's frown darkened, "Well, I'm not deciding, I really couldn't care less."
Everyone's eyes widened.
But Piper sympathized, "Nico, think about Annabeth. It has to be your choice, no one will choose for you—"
"I will," Percy said, mischieve highlighting his eyes as he leaned in the doorway.
He strolled in, quickly followed by a sprinting Will right as his heels, when Will finally caught up he was panting, he shook his head.
"Couldn't .... too.... fast," he said between gasping breaths, "Water... everywhere!"
Jason sighed, grunting, "Jackson you're not deciding for him."
Percy walked over, throwing his arm around Nico's shoulder. Nico flinched.
"Hey, I was giving a vision too, Nico and I are practically co-quest-leaders!"
Everyone looked at Rachel, who shrugged, "I suppose technically, but you'd have to agree on your choices."
Percy sighed, rolling his eyes, "Well then Nico and I have a lot to discuss, so you're all candidates, go wait on the porch."
When everyone gave him questionable looks he frowned, "Now!"
They all rushed out, but not because of his demand, when he had yelled there'd been a creaking noise from the walls: the water pipes.
Jason quickly came to the conclusion Percy had a dangerously short fuse and ushered everyone out quickly.
Percy smiled, satisfied, "Okay, who will it be? Any recommendations?"
Nico kept his scowl, "Hazel."
He nodded, "Whatever, but that means we have to bring Piper too. They're a package deal, aren't they? They both seemed unstable with Annabel's death, and I doubt you know how to comfort an emotional girl."
"Annabeth."
"Hm?"
Nico glared, "Annabeth, not Annabel."
"Whatever, but Reyna's definitely not invited if I go. How 'bout the fire boy?"
"Leo?"
"Yeah, and Gracy."
Nico frowned, "Gracy? Jason?"
"Yeah, yeah. But who else? We've got one more spot."
"Will."
"The guy you just had a death match with in the woods? He hates my guts!"
"You almost got him killed," Nico snarled, "and if you keep having headache attacks you're gonna need a medic on hand."
"True, fine. That means Jason, Piper, Hazel, Will, and Leo are our final choices?"
Nico nodded, "That's good enough, now I'm going to bed."
Percy looked out the window, dusk was falling, " 'Kay, I'll give the good news."
Nico and Jackson walked to the door, Nico walking right past the crowd waiting on the porch, straight to his cabin.
Jackson stopped and smirked, "Okay people, you, you, you, you, you, and you are all going. There that was simple," he pointed to Leo, Jason, Reyna, Piper, Hazel, and Will.
Chiron frowned, "That makes eight. One too many..."
Percy started his walk to his cabin, "That's not true. I backed out, like hell I'm going!"
Jason grunted, having had enough, he stormed after Percy, "Who do you think you are? You had the vision. You're going!"
Percy whipped around, "Did anyone ask if I wanted to go? No!"
Jason growled, "It doesn't matter! Your actions have consequences! You act like a child, we treat you like one!"
Percy's eyes glanced down coyly at Jason's hand edging for his gladius coin, "Is that how you treat a child, Grace? With a sword?"
Percy turned back around, scoffing, and continued walking away.
Jason groaned, "I didn't want it to come to this."
He quickly grabbed his coin flipping it in the air, catching his gladius in hand, and while Percy's back remained turned he took the cheapest shot possible and hit him in the back of the head with the butt of his sword.
"Sorry old friend," he said, disgusted with himself, feeling dishonorable as Percy crumpled to the ground, "It's for your own good," he said, throwing Percy over his shoulder, "Okay, looks like we're leaving tonight."
