"I don't understand," Jason cocked his head. "Why are we here?"
Will parked the golf cart, then turned around in his seat to look back at Jason. "I think it would be better if Percy explained," he said, stepping out of the cart and heading towards the beach.
Percy grumbled, turning back from the passenger's seat. "Okay listen, I, uh... need you to do me a favor."
Jason leaned forward, completely invading Percy's personal space. "Oh?" he raised his brow. "What kind of favor would that be?" he asked, his tone sultry as his eyes wandered down Percy's body.
Percy stiffened, glaring, "Not that kind of favor, you pervert!"
Jason sighed, reclining back in his seat. "Then I'm not interested."
Clenching his fists, Percy huffed, "Why are you so difficult?!"
Jason shrugged, his arms crossed. "Hey, I know what I want."
Percy turned away, his face slightly heating. "Damn bastard," he muttered.
He jolted as Jason's hand reached over the seat, running his knuckles down Percy's face. "Why don't we make a trade then?" His hands continued down Percy's neck. "That way we can both get what we want," he whispered, barely an inch from Percy's ear.
Percy grabbed his wrist just as Jason's hand started to go down his shirt's collar.
"Deal."
Jason raised a surprised brow, "Agreeing so easily? You don't even know my terms yet."
His expression hardened, tightening his grip on Jason's wrist. He said, "I need you to wade into Lethe's water, where, if I'm not careful, you may be dragged under and drown or lose all you memories. I need you to put your life in my hands." He loosened his grip. "I think indulging you a bit if you survive is the least I can do."
Jason blinked, retracting his hand. "Hm, sounds like you'd owe me quite a lot. I mean, I'd be risking my life after all."
Percy groaned, running a hand through his hair.
Leaning close again, Jason smirked, "In return I want my way with you."
Percy jerked away, his face now fully flushed.
"Those are my terms. Take it or leave it."
Percy growled, "You dirty bastard." He took a deep aggravated sigh. "Fine."
"Fine what?"
"Deal, I'll do it."
Jason smiled smugly, "Say it, what will you do?"
Percy violently turned back in the seat, "I should let that water drag you to the bottom of the ocean!"
He shrugged, "No deal until I hear you say it."
Percy, radiating fury, shook his head. "You sick fuck." Staring at the ground, he begrudgingly muttered through his gritted teeth, "If you help me I'll let you have your way with me."
"What was that?"
Snarling, Percy grabbed Jason by his shirt, jerking him forward. "I said, if I don't kill you, my body's yours." He shoved him back, "One time thing."
"I can't wait," Jason smirked, sliding out of the go cart, heading towards Will on the beach.
Percy sat in the cart trying to calm himself. His fists were shaking and his jaw tightened. "Leo better have fixed that damn bottle by the time we get back," he muttered, pushing himself out of the cart.
Down at the beach, Will gave Percy a questioning look, Percy just shook his head.
"Alright then, I haven't seen any sign of Lethe yet, but we need to be prepared in case she does show up."
Percy crossed his arms, "I'm going to be a bit busy keeping Jason alive and all."
"Give me your sword, I'll deal with her," Will said, holding out a hand.
Percy frowned, hesitating, before pushing Will's hand away. "Jason, give Will your gladius."
"Hell no," Jason growled.
"You're not going to need it. Besides the deal is you have to trust me with your life," his eyes narrowed. "So let's see it."
Jason grumbled, fishing his gladius coin from his jean pocket. He flipped it up in the air, catching his golden sword as it came back down. He shoved it at Will. "All yours, blondie. Now, let's get this over with," he said, walking towards the water. "Is there anything I need to do?"
"Just wade in and don't let the water tempt you, it won't hesitate to drown you."
Jason just shrugged, "Counting on you to keep that from happening."
"You ready for this?" Will asked, glancing at Percy.
Percy expression was steely, his brow pinched. "When we first got here the sea was calling to me and I couldn't resist. This water is so powerful, so tempting. And more than anything it wants to corrupt me, so I better be fucking ready."
Will frowned at the profanity, but nodded.
"Just make sure to keep that damn deity away from me or I might lose control again."
Will raised the gladius. "I've got your back, just try not to kill Jason."
"I've certainly considered it, but if it means that much to you, I'll try my best."
Will, again, nodded, starting to walk along the beach searching for any sign of the deity.
Jason, yards away, took his first step into the water. Percy groaned, as immediately the waves began raging. He pushed them back, straining to keep Jason's body dry as he waded in.
He began to feel that calming sensation once again, a blissful lulling that clouded his mind. The sensation was alluring and he struggled to refuse it.
The water looks so inviting, he thought before immediately jolting and pushing the thought away. It could give me such great power if I just let it. Giving it just a bit of slack couldn't hurt. Percy shook his head, blinking violently, trying to focus on Jason who was now waist deep.
"Hey, are you okay over there?" Jason asked, frowning at the water churning around him.
Percy clutched his head. "I'm fine," he spat, forcing the water away from Jason, making a dry circle around him.
"You seem distraught, son of Poseidon."
Percy entire body froze, his vision blurring. The presence behind him was something all consuming and suddenly his mind felt stuffed with cotton. Somewhere in the distance he heard a faint voice yell, but the sound of a powerful wave seemed to drag it away.
"See? There, now aren't you feeling more at ease?" Lethe sighed, caressing the boy's cheek. "I just hate to see your expression so strained, let me bring you peace."
Percy's eyes glazed over as he subconsciously leaned into her hand, his body slightly swaying.
"You've fought for so long, let me take care of you now," she whispered tenderly.
