Chapter 5

Traitor

Rapunzel searched all through Old Corona but couldn't find anything. Eugene walks up to her, Rapunzel said "Maybe Cassandra was right....." Eugene said "It's ok Rapunzel, at least you tried." Rapunzel smiles At Eugene's words before they went back to the castle.
When they got their Rapunzel tells Eugene "I....want to be alone...." Eugene nods and said "Ok, Blondie." He smiles before walking away. Rapunzel walks towards her room before grabbing her diary(???) and drawing what has happen in the past few days. She hears a knock in the door and she said "Come in." She was expecting it to be Eugene but it was her mom with a warped box. Queen Arianna said "I know it has been a hard couple of days for you, Rapunzel; you coming back from your adventure, the prisoners escaping, you coming back with Varian, and him betraying us again..... So I got you a gift." She gives Rapunzel the present and Rapunzel opens it. It was a necklace of the Sun. Rapunzel said "I love it mom! Thank you!" She hugs her mother and she hugs her back. They stop and and hear a knock on the door and Eugene comes in with a cupcake and said "I know you want to be alone but-" He stops to see Rapunzel and Queen Arianna looking at him. He looks up from the cupcake to the two women. He said "Well cupcakes always make you feel better... So here." He puts in on a counter before leaving. Rapunzel and Queen Arianna burst into laughing.
Varian was telling the three adults everything since he escaped Corona's jail, if he didn't then Rudiger would get hurt. As he finished Ethan said "Who else would have the Moondrop if he didn't." David said "He said after he drop some chemicals on the rock, it could be a power close to that power." Winter agrees with David, Varian just sat their, trying to understand what was happening. Ethan said "Do you really think that would happen?" Winter said "Well what else could it be?" Ethan said "He activated the power." David said "Hmmm...." Winter ask Varian "Have you seen this symbol before." She shows Varian the symbol on her hand; a circle with three lines. Varian nods and said "It was on a chest and things in the chest." Ethan ask "Who does this chest belong to?" Varian said "I have no idea..... I think my dad." David ask "What's your father's name?" Varian was hesitant saying his name but he says "Quirin." Ethan slams his hand on the table before saying "That traitor!"
Varian sat in a jail cell he was given. He thinks I'm in jail, again, he looks outside the window too see the sun, it felt like months since he was kidnapped but it only has been 3 and a haft day. He hits the wall before thinking about the word Moondrop. They said he had it. He didn't believe them but maybe if it was true he could control the black rocks? He focuses on the dark rocks, imaging them coming towards him.
Rapunzel looks outside the window, it only has been a week since Varian has been missing and no one has been able to find him, no traces of him either. People have said that he must of hid himself good but something didn't seem right. Eugene comes in the room and said "I might have an idea where Varian is." Rapunzel looks up at him and ask "You do?!" Eugene nods and said "Yup! Now let's go!" Rapunzel said "Ok! Let me just get Cassandra." She runs off before Eugene said another word.
Cassandra, Eugene, and Rapunzel got to Old Corona. Eugene walks to a building and opens a trap door. He said "When we first got here Varian showed me his machines that almost killed us." Cassandra tells Maximus "Stay here and keep watch." Maximus nods and Cassandra grabs her sword and walks down with her Owl on her shoulder. Rapunzel and Pascal follow her, then Eugene.
Cassandra leads the way and Rapunzel said "It seems like no one has been here in ages." Cassandra said "I still wouldn't trust a thing, someone can hide pretty well if they're smart." Rapunzel nods, keeping that in mind. They keep walking finding nothing. Cassandra said "Let's get back to Maximus so that we can go back to Corona." They all nod and walk back to Maximus.
When they get near the trapdoor that they went through they hear a familiar yell and Maximus. Rapunzel said "Someone is up their!" They run up the trapdoor and they see.....
