Chapter 12

Eclipse

Varian opens his eyes to see Rapunzel, he sits up and winces in pain. Rapunzel ask "Varian, are you ok?" Varian looks up at her and he said "Umm.... I think so." Varian looks around and he quickly gets up and says "Where is my dad?" Rapunzel ask "What do you mean? What happened?" Varian said "He told me to run and hide and so I ran up to the tree, and I heard something and next thing I know something hit my head and I blacked out." Rapunzel doesn't know what to think and she ask "Did you see anyone?" Varian said "I saw a circle with three lines on people's helmet." He looks down and tears run down his face, he said "What happen if something really bad happen to my dad? Do you know where he is?" Rapunzel said "I didn't find him anywhere." Rudiger runs up to Varian and Varian said "Rudiger!" Varian grabs Rudiger and hugs him. Rapunzel thinks too where she seen that mark, on Varian's dad stuff and when they went to that group's hideout..... Rapunzel said "What about that place where you were put when the people kidnapped you?" Varian said "They had the same symbol."
Varian and Rapunzel went to that place. Rapunzel grabs her frying pan and Varian said "I think we should-" Rapunzel said "Varian. We have gotten into this place before, why can't we know?" Varian said "Well last time I checked we had two people here and a horse who could fight." Rapunzel said "I can take on anyone." She swings the frying pan in her hand before hitting herself with it. Varian laughs a bit and he jokes "A total master." Rapunzel rolls her eyes and said "Come on let's go!"
They get close by and Varian ask "How are we going to get in?" Rapunzel looks at him and said "We can sneak in." Varian said "Sorry but I'm pretty sure it will be hard too sneak a girl with long blond hair." Rapunzel said "It's in a braid!" Varian sighs and said "We can make a distraction." Rapunzel said "They will still have guards." Varian said "True, and maybe two or.... What about alchemy?" Rapunzel looks confused and Varian said "We can make an explosion happen very close to the hideout, guards will HAVE to investigate incase their is danger near their. Or we can always start a forest fire." Rapunzel ask "Why would we start a forest fire? Wouldn't that make them evacuate?" Varian said "I don't know, it depends if their base is underground and the forest won't reach it-" He stops and he said "Of course!" Rapunzel ask "What?" Varian said "Their is going to be more than one entrance, and secret ones that aren't guarded." Rapunzel said "That might take a while to find." Varian said "And we should get more people to help." Rapunzel sighs and said "Come on."
Rapunzel said "Varian, I found something." Varian walks up to her, it has been a day and things weren't really going well for them. Rapunzel points to a tunnel with one person standing guard, Rapunzel said "This is hidden pretty well." Varian nods and said "It should be." Varian said "We can distract the guard easily while getting in." Rapunzel ask "How are we going to do that?" Varian smiles and said "Rudiger."
Varian and Rapunzel sneaked into the tunnels as soon as Rudiger started to distracted the guard, well more like annoy the guard. They walk down a long tunnel before getting to a door. Rapunzel was about to open the door but Varian whispers "Wait!" Rapunzel ask "What?" Varian said "People might be on the other side." He puts his ear to the door and waits a minute to see if he hears anything, he doesn't hear a thing so he quietly opens it and looks around and he sees no one. Rapunzel walks into the room and said "I wonder what room this is." Varian said "And what side of the base we are in." He quietly closes the door. Rapunzel walks around, looking at everything. She sees a trapdoor and said "I wonder what this is." She opens it to see a tunnel.
Varian walks over to her and he said "This might be a secret exit, or goes though all the rooms." Rapunzel smiles and said "Let's see where it leads!" She goes into the tunnel with Varian following her, he closes the trapped door to make sure no one notices that they are their. As they follow the tunnel the tunnel splits into different ways, Varian puts some of his pink sticky stuff, saying it shows where we came from.
They walk for what felt like hours to only be haft an hour till they walked to a staircase with a door at the top . Rapunzel ask "Where do you think it leads to?" Varian said "No idea, but let's see." He walks to the door and puts his ear to it to hear if anyone was in their, he doesn't hear anyone so he quietly opens it, no one was their. Rapunzel and Varian walk inside the room. They hear loud talking from another room, almost yelling. They both quietly walk to the door and Rapunzel crouches down to see into the keyhole.
He asks quietly "What do you see?" Rapunzel said "Umm......." Worry fills his face, she said "I just see a person with your-" Varian said "Dad?" His voice is a little loud with hope and he covers his mouth, hoping no one heard him. They hear footsteps and they both hide behind a bookshelf.
The door that Rapunzel was looking through open, a young man with blonde hair and hazel eyes step out. He looks around the room with a sword and he said "I swear I heard a sound from this room." He looks around the room again before stepping back into the other room, leaving the door open.
Varian lets out a soft sigh of relief, Rapunzel smiles and she said "Come on!" Varian looks at her confused and she gets up and walks to the door side of the door. Varian also gets up and follows Her quietly, it was harder for him since he had shoes on. He stands by her side as she peaks in. She grabs him by the arm and quickly and quietly she walks to a wall to hide behind, Varian quickly follows or well drags along, when he gets behind their he whispers "What was that for?" Rapunzel whispers back "So we can see what's happening, he looked away so I throught that was our chance." Varian whispers "Oh... Ok."
Rapunzel peaks behind the wall, Varian thinks 'Weird, their is a wall in the room, it doesn't even hide anything.' He looks around to see handcuffs attach to some of the walls. He realizes they must be in a jail cell. He looks back to Rapunzel to see her still looking. He walks beside and also peaks to see what is happing.
The blond man stares at Quirin and ask "Where is the boy?" Quirin said "Not telling you." The man crouches down to where Quirin was chained to the wall and he said "Quirin, come on. We can let you go when you tell us. You known me since I was 11." Quirin said "You must of forgotten James but I quiet this group." James smirks and let's out a chuckle and Quirin ask "Does the rest of the Eclipse know you are here?" James rolls his eyes and gets up and starts to pace around and said "I don't care what the council has to say, I'm going go be the next leader so why wait till then when I can start now." He gives a dark smile.
