Tears for a Lost One

James said "And if you don't tell us I bet the brat will come and try to recuse you." He chuckles and Quirin snaps "Don't disrespect my son, James!" James laughs and said "Tell me where you last saw him." Quirin stays quiet and James rolls his eyes and said "Fine, be like that, stay quiet." He snaps at the last part.
Varian gets ready to run at James but Rapunzel grabs him, she covers his mouth as he tries to speak, she whispers "We have to be quiet Varian if we want to get out of this hideout with your dad." Varian struggles a bit before nods, calming down and Rapunzel releases him. He looks at Rapunzel before hearing a sword and he looks back to James and his dad.
James removes the sword from Quirin's chest, killing him. Varian eyes widen before he tries to to run at James (again). Rapunzel grabs him and covers his mouth, holding him back. Unlike last time he didn't struggle, Rapunzel could feel her hands becoming wet and Varian's muffled cries. Tears also falls down her eyes, but she somehow holds back her cries. They get away from the edge of the wall before hearing a door open and two gasps. A women's voice ask "James!? What have you done?" James replies calmly "Getting answers unlike the rest of Eclipse!" A man's voice angrily replies "We weren't pose to kill him! You aren't even allowed in this room! I'm sorry but I can't have you as the next leader!" The conversation soon dies down and Rapunzel soon hears foot steps out of the room and a door closing.
She looks down at Varian to only see him crying onto her shoulder, she rubs his back trying to comfort him and she said "It's ok." After a minute he stops crying and he wipes his tears away, he quietly said "It's all my fault." His voice cracks while saying it. Rapunzel said "No it isn't." He doesn't reply and gets up and checks to see if anyone is in the room, no one is their. He quickly walks over to his dad and said "Dad" to see if their was a chance if he was alive. He doesn't respond and more tears stream down Varian's face. Rapunzel walks up to him, they hear the door open and they both turn to see Clarissa.
