Me, Andi, Buffy, and Jonah all crowded into my bedroom, rushing to get ready. Let's just say that it was nothing short of a mess. Buffy was doing her makeup with a single brush while Andi was straightening Buffy's hair with a cloth iron. I was trying to find Andi's dress while Jonah running after me trying to fix my collar and button up my shirt. The whole situation was MacGyvered to hell, but somehow we all managed to get to the synagogue on-time, that is after squeezing into the old two-door Cuttless Bex bought off of some guy on Craigslist.
I climbed out of Bex's deathtrap, I mean car, and stepped out into the parking lot. That's when a wave of panic rushed through my body. I was close to hyperventilating, I thought that I was going to have a heart attack right there on the spot. Thankfully, Buffy and Andi noticed my face getting redder and pulled me off to the side.
"You're going to do great Cyrus." Buffy said sympathetically.
"Ya, I mean you've been practicing literally all month, you got this!" Andi said trying to reassure me.
"Thanks guys." I said, feeling a little bit better, but still pretty nervous.
Thankfully the pep talk that Andi and Buffy gave me worked. The ceremony went off without hitch, well except for when Buffy got into a fight with my third cousins' Aunt, but that's a story for another time.
Walking outside the synagogue, I met up with Buffy and Andi once more and let out a sigh of relief.
"Told you that you would do great." Buffy said, looking proud.
"Ya, if it wasn't for Buffy getting into a fight, the entire Bar Mitzvah when as smooth as could be." Andi responded.
"Hey, she had it coming for her. Like I would let anybody step on these Red-Bottoms." Buffy responded.
"No Buffy, those are Jimmy Choo's." Andi said.
I could already tell where this was going and just decided to excuse myself from the conversation. Well, I didn't really excuse myself, but just snuck away while they weren't looking.
"No, their Red-Bottoms Andi, look. Right Cyrus?" I heard Buffy say while I begain walking away.
I knew my friend's way to well.
Eventualy I found Jonah in the corner of the parking lot, texting away on his phone. As soon as he saw me he put his phone in his pocket, ran up and hugged me.
"You did great!" He said enthusiastically, pecking me on the lips.
"You're coming to the party, right?" I asked
"No, Cy, I definitely wouldn't come to my boyfriends birthday party." Jonah said sarcastically.
I just stuck my tongue out at him, causing him to giggle.
The good hair crew+Jonah piled back into Bex's death-machine, I mean out of all the cars in the world, Bex just had to buy this one, didn't she? After what seemed like ages being trapped in-between Andi and Buffy, who were obviously arguing throughout the whole car ride, in the back-seat, we finally made it to the Party-Hall, fashionably late of course.
Buffy and Jonah immediately went to the buffet and just started gorging. It was as if the two hadn't seen food in years. Sometimes I wonder how they're so fit, I mean they eat the serving sizes of elephants.
Me and Andi continued to walk around, greeting everyone and collecting their presents, Andi still trying to convince me that Buffy was wearing Jimmy Choo's.
While I was greeting someone, I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. Turning around, I saw that it was TJ, the team captain of Buffy's basketball team. Buffy doesn't like him much but I thought it would be nice to invite him. We meet like three weeks ago so I guess that makes us friends?
"Hey Cyrus, cool party." He says handing me a gift card.
"Thank You. Glad that you could make it." I said taking the Gift card from his hands.
"Alright, I'll catch you later Cy." He said, walking off.
Me, Andi, Buffy, and Marty, Buffy un-official boyfriend all found a table. I was focused on devouring the sundae I was eating while Buffy and Marty were arm-wrestling. I swear those two are so competitive, their basically made for each other. I just wished they dated already, but again that's probably what Buffy was thinking with me and Jonah. Andi was sitting next to me scrolling through Instagram.
I feel someone hug me from behind making me instantly uncomfortable but come to find out, it was Jonah, making me relaxed again. He got a chair from another table presumably to sit down, but first he slid over Andi's chair.
"You don't mind if I sit next to my boyfriend, do you, Andi?" Jonah said coldly, obviously trying to prove a point.
Andi didn't respond but I could see the anger in her eyes. She tried to hide it by holding her phone up to her face but it didn't go past me. I wondered what happened between those two.
Jonah put his arm around me and kissed my check.
"Happy Birthday Cy." He whispered into my ear.
"Jonah, you said that like a dozen times already." I mocked.
"Well, now it's a dozen and one." He responded.
"Oh Jonah, what am I going to do with you." I said, resting my head on his shoulder.

This was probalby the most boring chapter. It was mainly setting the stage and forshadowing some of the future events in the story. The music does not match but I'm to lazy to find muic that fits.
