I rested my head on Jonah's shoulder as music washed over the hall (play video please). I felt him reaching for my hand and kissing my check.
"If it wasn't your Bar-Mitzvah, I would be telling you to get a room." Buffy said, making a gagging noise.
"If you two got any cuter, I'm gonna through up." Marty chimed in.
I just ignored the two as they fangirled and snuggled in closer to Jonah.
"Cy, enough snuggling, let's go dance!" Jonah whined.
"Jonah, you know I'm a terrible Dancer. Besides, I'm perfect with what I'm doing right now." I respond, snuggling even closer to him, basically on-top of him.
I felt him pull me up of my chair and drag me to the Dance Floor.
"Jonah!" I whined as we walked passed the tabes to the dance floor.
"Cy, It'll be fun, trust, me." He reassured.
I swear, although I love Jonah sometimes he can be a real BoBo. Anyways, although I still didn't want to dance and make a fool of myself in front of everyone, I gave in an stop resisting. Eventually we made it to the Dance Floor and Jonah just had to announce our arrival, didn't he.
Getting down on one knee, he held out his hand and said "Cy, may I have this dance." Causing everybody and their mom to crowded around us. I just nodded my head I was so embarrassed.
Slowly and methodically, Jonah got up and put one arm around my waist while grabbing y hand with the other.
"Just follow my lead." He whispered into my ear while gesturing me to put my free hand just below his shoulder.
"I hated slow dances, why did it have to be a slow dance" I whined internally as my face began to get redder.
"Stop being so stiff, loosen up a little. Just follow my lead." Jonah whispered into my ear, sensing my nervousness.
After a while, I was beginning to get the hang of it and started to loosen up.
"There you go Cy, now you got !" Jonah said encouragingly.
Then suddenly, he began to spin me around. Instead of becoming still and nervous, I just decided to go with the flow. Wow, that sounds like something Bex would say. As time passed on, it turned from a slow dance into more of an acrobatics show, well, to me at least. The best part of it, however, was that everybody else just seemed to disappear. For the first time ever, it felt like it was just me and Jonah. I was so far gone that when the song ended and everyone cheered, I got so scared that I jumped into Jonah's arms, turning out to make a pretty good finisher now that I think about it.
A couple of minutes later, I was surprised to hear that the Buffy and Andi were doing a choreographed dance as a surprise. Honestly, though, I have to admit that it was pretty cringy. I mean they had matching gold vests and fufu Air-Forces. They looked straight out of a lookbook from 2005. But, I still supported. They're my best friends, I wasn't going to boo them offstage. It's the thought that counts, right?
Soon enough it was getting dark. The weather was pretty nice for once, so many people decided to go outside. I found Buffy outside of the main doors with a joyful expression plastered across he face.
"Hey Buffy, you seem happy." I said.
"Cyrus, my mom's coming home." Buffy said in a high-pitched voice.
"That's great Buffy." I started while pulling her into a hug. "You see, I said everything would work out." It was so happy to finally see Buffy happy again. I haven't seen her this joyous in ages.
After hearing Buffy nearly scream at the top of her lungs, Andi came running over with a worried expression.
"What happened, is everything alright?" She asked concerned.
"Andi, my mom's coming home!" Buffy yelled excitedly once more.
"When is she gonna be back!" Andi responded, sounding as excited as Buffy.
"By the end of next month," Buffy said, trying to cool down, but with a smile still plastered across her face.
Soon enough, the party came to a close. After saying my goodbyes, I promptly departed from the now messy hall. Bex left early because of a stomach ace, so I had to walk back to my house, and that's easier said than when your lugging ten different outfits around. I told her not to eat all of that chocolate.
While I was walking, I saw a faint figure stumbling around ahead of me, just able to make out that this figure was Jonah.
"Who brought alcohol." I muttered under my breath while sighing.
Speadwalking to catch up with him, I asked "Jonah, are your drunk?"
"No, Shlyrus, I'm perfectly fine." Jonah slurred.
"You don't look fine. Let me walk you back to your house." I said concerned.
"Shlrus, I shyaid I'm fine!" Jonah slurred while pushing me back, causing me to fall.
Jonah continued on walking away as if everything was perfectly normal, but I was an emotional mess. Thankfully, nobody saw me. I just sat on the cement, completely dumbfounded. Soon enough though, the tears began to stream out of my eyes.
