The Uber was a black Prius with a deep red scrape inflicted upon it, almost resembling a gash, running down its passenger side. The red of the gash broke up the black monotone finish of the car, seemingly dividing it.

Me and Buffy climbed into the back seat whilst Andi took shotgun. The short drive was lengthed by the uncomfortable silence that enveloped the inside of the car. Worry was still present in the air.

After what seemed like an eternity, we finally reached the hospital, pulling in front of the heavy main doors that separated us from the maternity wing.

As soon as I walked through the large main doors, I was confronted by the all-to-familiar Hospital sent of sterilization. However, something seemed to be different about the hospital this time around. Instead of the melancholy and somber mood of the ICU, where I resided just but a week earlier, the maternity ward convened a joyous spirit. A time of happiness. A time of Hope.

Walking over to the main desk, we registered for the Ultrasound.

"Hi, I would like to make an appointment for an Ultrasound." Andi said, trying her best to sound professional.

"I have one open slot, starting..." The receptionist started before checking her monitor. "Starting in twenty minutes. Passed that, well all booked out for five months." She concluded, looking up from out monitor.

"Ya, we'll take that one." Andi responded, handing the receptionist the two-hundred and fifty dollars we managed to scrounge up.

Counting the money, the receptionist's eyes started to furrow, with cracks appearing on her forehead.

"I'm sorry honey, but this isn't enough." She said, looking up sympathetically.

"Are you sure, can you recount it to make sure?" I asked worriedly.

Recounting the money a second time, the same expression reappeared on the receptionist's face once more.

"Your still a hundred dollars short." she concluded, looking at us with even more sympathy.

Suddenly, I saw an arm extended from behind me, with a crisp one-hundred dollar bill slid gently between the fingers on its right hand.

"No their not." I heard a voice behind me speak whilst simultaneously handing the receptionist the hundred dollar bill.

Turning around, I saw that this mysterious figure was nonother than Jonah Beck.

It had turned out that Andi and Buffy were also shocked, their jaws wide open.

"What, I thought that we were in this together." Jonah said to all three of us, placing his hand gently on Andi's womb, causing her to let out a small child.

"Yep, three-hundred and fifty dollars." The receptionist said, counting the money a third time, with the inclusion of Jonah's one-hundred dollar bill. " You guys can go and sit down over there." She started, pointing to a quaint but rather homey waiting area. "I'll call you once the doctor's ready." She finished.

After thanking her for her help, Jonah wrapped his arm around my shoulder, letting it dangle just above my chest.

"You came back." I said in a low voice.

"I thought I never left." Jonah responded, holding me tighter whilst lining over me and kissing my lips.

Sitting down in the reception area, the sence of worry that had seemed to continuously entrench itself into the atmosphere around us had seemed to vanish. Confront and reassurance soon filled this void, breaking the cycle of nervousness that had been running through our bodies throughout the day.
