Monday morning my alarm goes off and I try several times to hit the snooze button before I accidentally end up unplugging it from the wall.Oops.

I get up and plug it back in. Resetting the time, I remember the events of Friday and my already bad morning mood takes a turn for the worst.I have never been a morning person but recent events makes it especially foul.

Growling, I take a shower and use my hair dryer to dry my natural blonde hair. Then I dress into the school uniform which consists of an ill-fitted white blouse and a mid-thigh navy blue pleated skirt. I slip on my matching navy blue tie and flats. After that, put my hair in a tight bun onto my head to keep it out of my face during the day. Nothing annoys me more than strands of hair obstructing your view. Sliding on my square black plastic-rimmed glasses last, I take in my appearance in the mirror.

I look like a lawyer, I think, my mood lifting just a bit. Today is going to be a good day, I tell myself. Better than Friday, at least.I think of Tobias and his friends. I suppress a shudder.

I take a deep breath and hold my head high. You can do this. You will not be pushed around. You are stronger than that. I think of Tobias's firmly toned chest and mend my thoughts a bit. Mentally, anyways.

I snag my school briefcase along with a piece of toast for breakfast and call goodbye to my mother. No one answers back so I assume she's already went to work for the day.

The morning is bright and cheery. All feels as though it should. Except this ominous feeling that has me constantly looking over my shoulder as I walk to school.

I turn the block just as a black limo slowly creeps up next to me. I whip toward it and suppress another sigh along with the urge to clench my hands into fists. If there's anything my lawyer of a mother taught me, it is to never let the opposition see what you are feeling. It can make or break your case.

One of the limo's tinted black windows roll down reveling it's occupants. "Hey pretty lady! You want a lift?" one of Tobias's friend's calls from the back seat. It's the weird one with the spiky blond hair.

Rolling my eyes, I continue on walking, blatantly ignoring them. Maybe they'll go away. I snort. And maybe I'll grow wings and learn how to fly.

"Do you think she didn't hear me?" I hear spiky blond ask.

"Nah,she heard you. She's just being a brat," Tobias mutters. I can easily pick his voice out. It's been haunting me the entire weekend.

The redhead one chimes in. "Maybe you should try saying it louder?" I roll my eyes at his sarcasm. Sadly, spiky blond must be somewhat dim because he actually tries it.

"HEY CASSIDY, CAN YOU HEAR-,"

"Will you shut up!" I cut him off with a shout. I turn toward them and the anger on my face must be showing through. It stuns them all into an awkward silence while simultaneously drawing the attention from students around us. I groan, inwardly, cursing my mother for giving me her temper as well as her looks.

I take a deep breath and run my fingers down the sides of my face, pushing loose hair back into place. I then turn away from them and keep walking, acting like I didn't just lose my cool. Knowing it was too much to hope, the limo keeps creeping forward beside me. I glance around and see the student populace whispering and pointing at us. The rumor mill has already started.

I turn back to the limo and hiss, "Will you quit bothering me?"

"Will you just get in? It'll be faster. Besides, you're the one making a scene." Tobias quips. I have to bite my tongue to keep from speaking my mind.
