I set my tray down at the lunch table and pop a squat. Jerome and Timony sit next to me and as we eat, the lunchroom slowly fills up.

"Looks like the student council's back from their trip," Timony talks around his food. It takes a moment before what he says computes.

I glance up to see them filing in and take note of their demeanor. "They seem tense." Jerome nods his head in agreement with me. "Especially, the President." He inclines his head in her direction.

I turn and peer through the crowds to find her. When my eyes alight on her, I can see noticeable stress lines on her face. Her perfect hair is not so perfect right now. Strands hang loose from her bun, giving a disheveled look. Her hands keep wringing her skirt, wrinkling it.

It's like she feels my eyes on her because she looks up and catches my eyes. Her eyes seem kind of sad. I find myself nodding a hello to her. To my shock, she nods back before her brunette friend Maydean draws her attention away from me. "Something is very wrong." This becomes very apparent when we start hearing partial rumors floating around.

"Can you believe it? Why would she..."

"...shows she can't do her job..."

"Is it possible to impeach her? Because she seriously..."

I lock eyes with the guys and realize they are hearing this, too.

Timony leans towards the girl yapping closest to us and taps her shoulder. She starts to glare at him for interrupting but then realizes it's Timony and starts twirling her fake blond hair, seductively. "Hey, Timony! How's it hanging?"

Timony flashes her a smoldering smile that makes her blush. "I couldn't help but overhear you a bit. Is something wrong?" He flashes her a concerned look and she melts like putty.

Her whole attitude changes. She curls her lip in disgust. "Yeah, it's that stuck up student council president. She can't seem to do her job right. She's not that friendly, either. It's like she thinks she's better than the rest of us." The blond leans in closer to him. "Rumor has it that she took the entrance exam to KCGSC and failed. You'd think that would show her she's not something special but I guess it did little to knock her off her high horse." She rolls her eyes and I feel the urge to slam my fist in her face. Not that I'd ever hit a woman. But still this chick is trying my patience.

Timony turns away from her immediately and she looks shocked but then turns back to her friends who are excited about the fact that Timony even spoke to her.

"This doesn't look good," Timony states. Concern creeps into his voice. Slowly I nod.

Jerome looks deep in thought. A wrinkle appears between his eyebrows as they furrow together. "I wonder why she didn't pass the exam? She's intelligent enough to."

I glance back over at Cassidy who has moved further up in the lunch line. My eyes sweep over her again. Two guys have joined her and Maydean in whatever conversation they're having. The first one I barely recognize as the Student Council Treasurer, Jonas. The second one is more familiar. Cole Maghin. We don't really know each other but when we first met, it was at a concert. We took an instant dislike to each other.

Our eyes meet and we regard each other for a moment before Cassidy asks him something. He glances back at me and then leans down and whispers something in her ear. She shoots him a soft smile and I feel jealousy rear it's ugly head. Where did that come from? I start to wonder why I'm feeling so possessive.

Timony and Jerome must've noticed too because they both glance at my right fist and I realize it's clenched around my milk carton. Milk is streaming around my hand and onto my tray. I set the carton down and wipe my hand with my napkin.

They give me knowing smiles but before they could say a word, I force out, "Don't even think about it."

"Wouldn't dream of it, lover boy," Jerome teases. "Would not even dream of it."

This part was kind of dramatic, right? So you are probably thinking that Tobias has mood swings. One moment he seems to hate Cassidy and the next he's falling in love. Don't worry! Even though Jerome teases him and calls him "lover boy" he's not in love with Cassidy. He's more like a boy who has a toy and doesn't want to share. But, do you think this could be the beginning of at least something?! Jerome certainly seems to! Up next Chapter 7:  Cassidy
