It was like seeing a ghost before me. One moment, I'm swinging around Cassidy, quickly falling in love with her and the next my ex appears in the picture. You can imagine how awkward this is about to get. And it's all my fault.
I hate the feeling I get when I look at Rheanna. She was my first real love. The one who was beside me the last five or so years. Back before we even started the band. And then she was the one who start pushing me towards my dreams, making them her dreams, too. She pushed me to my max. Pushed all of us to our max. Made sure we knew we could do anything. And then, in the end, we weren't enough for her. She did a 180 and ditched us for our competition. She hurt us all so bad that she could never even return to the way it was before because we'd always wonder whether or not she'd leave again.
I feel Cassidy stiffen next to me and I resist the urge to look down and get lost in her beautiful eyes. I need to handle this. Timony and Jerome take a subtle step forward to let me know that they're there. They will back me up. No matter what. But even with them behind me and Cassidy next to me, I find myself wondering if I can take it. And if I can't, will I lose everything I worked so hard for? The bigger question is, will I lose a certain petite natural blond who has a thing for rules and regulations? These questions scare me. So I do what I normally do when I'm placed in between a rock and a hard space.
I retreat internally.
