Wake Up

Lithuania's hand moved again, then his head. His eyes were still closed, his breathing even. His facial expression not changing even a bit.

Poland was still looking out of the window, he was looking at the leaves falling from the nearby trees which made him zone out completely. Not hearing anything that would be happening around him. He seemed to be in some kind of trans that he forced himself into in order to forget everything and try to ignore his useless life and that he even exists at this point.

Lithuania moved again, this time he moved his fingers, tightening his grip on the bed sheets then releasing it again as if he lost all of his power. His head turned again and again until he finally tried to open his eyes.

...Feliks...

His eyes closed after only managing to open for a second, the room was too bright for him and his mind wasn't powerful enough to keep him up, forcing him to float in and out of consciousness, unaware of anything that was happening around him. Unable to hear or feel anything because of the constant exhaustion that he felt. His breath became heavy, every time it was harder and harder for him to take another breath.

He tried to open his eyes again after a long while. Slowly he tried to lift his eyelids before his mind would force him to sleep again and again. It wasn't easy to wake up, he had no control over his mind or body. His strength was gone. At times he would shake uncontrollably at others he would completely lose consciousness just to try to wake up again a couple minutes later. Lithuania felt tired and wanted to give up completely, how could he fight against something that he cannot even control? He tried.

...Over and over...

It seemed impossible but he never was this close. Finally, he decided to use all of his leftover strength that he possessed to try to open his eyes again and try to keep them open for long enough.

It didn't work, resulting in him losing consciousness once again.

Poland closed his eyes for a minute as if he was trying to isolate himself from the world even more. A single tear fell down his cheek, that was all he had left after a whole night of crying. He felt cold, felt devastated. He was sure that there was not reason in continuing all of this but he could not convince himself into believing it. He just could not imagine leaving Lithuania here all alone, he would not even be aware of what happened, would not know where he was.

...Alone...

That cannot happen. It just can't. Poland was aware of the fact that soon he could go crazy and do something stupid but he felt that was better than leaving someone he loved when they are in such a situation.

Toris tried again after regaining a very small amount of power. This time he managed to open his eyes and keep them like that for longer. He stopped feeling dizzy and he tried to focus his vision. His mind was trying to force him to close his eyes again, force him to go back to his never ending sleep while Lithuania was trying to fight back as best as he could. It worked in some part. The light coming from the window into the room was still blinding him which did not make anything easier for him. His body seemed to have a mind of his own as he tried to regain control over it bit by bit.

...Feliks...

Lithuania repeated his name, his mind making the word twice as loud. Soon, it was the cause of his deafness at the moment as the speaking sped up more and more. Soon, his whole mind was ringing. It became unbearable, his head was hurting a lot, forcing him to close his eyes numerous times to ease the pain. At one moment, he hit his fist on the bed which made an audible sound which spread across the room.

Feliks heard a sound coming from inside the room which made him jump, his heartbeat speed up because of how much it scared him. Still unaware of what has been happening behind his back for the past hour or so, he slowly turned round toward the bed and walked closer to it.

...It could not be...

Toris was waking up. It was obvious. He was moving. He ran up to the bed as fast as he could, almost falling to the ground in the process. He could not believe that it was actually happening. Tears came into his eyes. It truly was a miracle. Toris seemed to be in pain which immediately alarmed the Pole. Feliks touched his hand.

- Toris. - He whispered through the tears. That was the first thing that he said in a week, it felt so weird for him to hear his own voice after he was almost sure that he lost it.

Lithuania felt someone touch his hand which both scared him and eased the pain that he was still feeling. The ringing stopped.

Feliks he tried to say his name before opening his eyes. He could not hear himself at all.

Finally, Lithuania managed to open his eyes and keep them open. At first his vision was completely blank but then it focused on the white ceiling.

- Toris. - Poland repeated once more, still trying to overcome the tears that were refusing to stop falling down his face. He was squeezing his hand more and more, still unable to believe that Lithuania woke up. He saw his green eyes again, they seemed so alive yet so unaware of anything.

After calming down enough, Poland managed to get himself up from the floor, his legs still shaking. He stood over Lithuania's bed, trying to catch his attention. He stood there until his partner looked at him.

Feliks. Lithuania tried to say his name again, this time becoming more and more scared of the fact the he could not hear himself.

Feliks only smiled, wiping the rest of his tears with his sleeve. When Lithuania saw that, he very slowly moved his hand and tried to extend it as well as he could in order to wipe the tears for him. It was a hard process as his muscles were very sore and his hand was shaking due to his lack of strength.

Poland took his hand and laughed a bit. The laugh was not mocking, it contained so much happiness.

...So much hope...

Feliks. He tried again. Once again, unable to hear himself, still a bit confused about where he was and what happened to him.

- Toris. - Poland repeated again, just because. He was so happy that he could see his partner's eyes look at him again. He was so happy that he moved his arm so much. Most of all he was thankful that something managed to keep Feliks in this room one more day.

...It really was worth it...

Lithuania would finally be alright.

- I will come back in a second. - Feliks added, putting Lithuania's hand back onto the sheets, allowing it to rest. He just hoped that Toris was understanding what Feliks was trying to say. He still might be too weak for that.

Feliks got out of the room into the bright corridor and ran down the hallway to get a doctor as fast he could. He didn't want Lithuania to stay alone for too long. Plus, he had to know, Feliks just had to know the diagnosis. He had to know if he would ever hear Lithuania's voice again and if so, how long would it take. He also wanted to get the both of them out of this madhouse as fast as it was possible. He would do it for himself and most importantly, for Lithuania.
