It was Friday night. Jared didn't have school for another weekend. Well, never again at that school. It was a standard Friday, Jared went to play with his toys while his mother worked on her latest project. Only her latest project wasn't for work this time.

That night was the standard dinner, his mother ordered Pizza and they ate together at the table. Jared sat fighting his stretchy cheese with his teeth.

"So what happened in school today?" She asked him.

"I played with the jump rope at recess and Tyler made fun of me and so just tied it to a tree and tied the hanging end in a circle and we played jump through the loop and he went first and then he didn't come through and stopped moving and he didn't come in after recess and he left early when someone carried him away with a bunch of people."

       "Oh...well...uh...."

"Oh yeah, and last night daddy and uncle slendy came back. They took me to where uncle slendy lives. He lives in the woods! He had a party and some people came and we played tag only uncle slendy would hug their necks and they gave me another pointy toy and daddy had a pointy toy like mine."

"Wow." His mother said a little upset.

"What are you working on for work this week? You've been working on it all week!

"Right, I need to talk to you about that. I've been planning on getting a new house. I found a wonderful house but it's far away and you'll have to go to a new school."

         "Why?"

"Uh-I-There's a better job for me there!" she fumbled with her words.

"But I want to stay here!"

"I'm sorry sweetie. But I have to!"

"Can I stay here with daddy?"

"Daddy? Daddy...doesn't live here! Right! Right. He's only here to visit!"

"Does daddy live where we're moving?"

"No. Daddy doesn't. He still could come and visit though. But it will take a long time."

"Ok." Jared put his plate in the sink.

"Why don't you go start packing. I want to leave in Sunday. I've packed some things for you already."

          "Ok, goodnight."

"Good night sweetie." His mother put her plate away and went to pack some of her things.

The day they got to the New house, Jared asked why his dad couldn't live with them. That's when his mother explained everything in a way Jared would understand. Jared felt betrayed by his dad. If only they could be a regular happy family. That's all he ever wanted after that day.
