Eli was out Monday and Tuesday, but he was right back on Wednesday. I was glad to see him walk in the class, one because he was okay, and two because my friend is back! It's strange, I never thought I could get this attached to someone thats not my mother, but thats because I never thought I'd ever actually have friends.

"Sup Jared!" Eli greeted him with a big smile, his hair slicked back a bit as it always was.

"Hey Eli! I'm glad your back! By the way are you busy on Friday?" I turned back to him as he sat down in the se next to me.

        "I am not, why?"

"Mom's going out on some really big date with Adam on Friday and she said I could have you sleep over if you wanted."

"Alright, sounds cool. When do you want me over?"

"I don't know. I guess anytime after school really."

"Alright, well mom and Tim are still going to beat work when I get home so they'l probaby expect me to have already left. You can walk me home after school and I can put my back pack away and get my stuff from my house on the way and then we'll go to your house. How about that?"

        "Sounds like a plan!"

"But if you do not order pizza then you cancancel the whole thing."

"Alright, I promise pizza." Jared laughed.

"A sleep over?!" Isacc turned around, pretending to be excited. "How fun! Are you gonna braid each others' hair?" He teased.

"Yeah!" Eric laughed, turning around to join his friend, "Are losers you gonna have a pillow fight and paint each others' nails?" Both boys laughed and high fived.

"If I could I would be rolling my eyes at you." Eli said cooly. The bell for first period rang and Isaac and Eric tured around. Another days of classes were starting. He just had to wait until Friday.

Finally, Friday came. Jared sat on Eli's porch step, waiting for him to get everything. He could see Isaac, Eric, Jenna, and Carry down the street talking and laughing, but if only I could know what they were saying.

After a few more minutes, Eli came outside and we walked the rest of the way to my house. As we walkedin the door, he rubbed the top of his head, messing up his hair so it wasn't so nice an neat like it always was. It looked more like my mess of hair, only he had less of it and it was brown. We went up to my room where he took off his blue sweatshirt revealing his loose short sleeved gray V-neck that fell loosely over his tan jeans. He took off his glasses showing his glassy hazel eyes.

"Jared, I have something to show you." Eli half smiled and put his hand to his face. He removed the glass around his eyes. "The glass eyes are fake, I can remove them, I only have to wear them at school, and soon I might not have to wear them at all! Look!" He uncovered his eye, surprising me with what was underneath. The most beautiful hazel eyes that I've ever seen. They were the perfect color and had little gold flecks, highlighting his pupil. I'd never seen anything more beautiful or mesmorising in my life.

Eli took off both glass covors so both eyes were revealed. "These are my real eyes." He explained. "I have to wear the glass over them, though, just in case. When I get angry, these two beautys roll back into my head, showing nothing but two black holes. My mom says thats why they're so perfet and beautiful, because they never get exposed to the terrable things in life. I have to wear the glass so if I ever get angry or upset or whatever it'll still look like something is there. That's kinda were the whole blind thing came in too."
