There it is. The inevitable sound of the door closing as Jared enters. He shudders and gives a sigh of regret, as he was trying to sneak in and get right up to his room so his mother wouldn't catch him, but failed. Not that he was uoset with his mother, he just needed to clear his head, he figured the parade of questions his mother would send marching twords him wouldn't help his situation. Thanks to their squeaky door, however, his efforts were thwarted.
"Hey Jared! How was school?" His mother said emerging from the kitchen as Jared attempted to make it up the stairs before she could reach him. He only made it up three steps as his mother made it down the narrow hallway to the steps.
"Fine." Jared replied looking down, letting his black hair fall in front of his face so his mother couldn't see it. He had something unusual on his face, something he couldn't control, but he hated.
"Jared? Whats wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Jared. Look up. Now." She demanded. Jared quick lifted his head up and then threw it right back down to where she couldn't see. His mother grabbed his chin and lifted of his face with one hand, and moved his hair out of his with the other, being careful not to scratch his face with her well manicured, long nails.
Jared's mother's face lit up with a surprised smile. She laughed at what she was seeing, and let go of his chin. Jared was blushing! His face had turned a rosey shade of red!
Jared whipped his head around to fix his hair like a wet dog. He tried as hard as he could to hold back his smile but he couldn't hode it no matter how hard he tried. Jared sat on the stairs, waiting for his mom to stop laughing so she could interogating him on why he had been blushing so much.
It took a little under three minutes for her to get a grip and catch her breath. Jared staring at her irritatedly the whole time.
"I'm sorry son, what's up? Why does your face look like a tomato?" She laughed.
"Remeber those two notes I got the other day? The one for you and the love letter?"
"No way!"
"I got another one. Some one handed it to me today. Her name was Tanya Crysten. Her friend likes me aparently."
"Oh My GOSH!!!! My son has a secret admirer! Awwww! That's so adorable!!"
"Mom stop."
"Alright sweetie. So do you have any idea who the girl could be?"
"Well, I've heard rumors about Jenna Kutley..."
"Aww! Do you like her?"
"Maybe..."
"This is great honey!"
"No it's not!"
"Why not?"
"Because I'm an unstable, maniac who gets homocidal in my sleep because my father whove I've never formaly met is a stupid demon who cut a smile onto himself and burned of his eyelids! His best friend has no face for goodness sake! Not that I would know anything about goodness."
"Honey, I can help you. Your father wants to help you. He promised. He's here to help you, then he'll leave us alone rather than bothering us or turning you to his side."
"Whatever mom." Jared said and retreated up to his mom. "I just don't want to hurt Jenna."
