I met Eli outside the front doors of the school. Only, as I walked out, I found Isaac and Eric already bugging him. I just shook my head and rolled my eyes. Really? You can't just give him his first day before being rude!

"So Elijah James huh? What are you from the eighteenth century or something?" Isaac teesed.

"That's like E.J! Like Eyeless Jack!" Eric said.

"Don't eat my kidneys eyeless jack!" Isaac pretended to be scared. Then both him and Eric started laughing and playfully punched Eli in the shoulder. Eli just sat there with a "whatever" expression and took it. Obviously he didn't care and he wasn't going to give them the satisfaction of responding.

"What are you def? Why do you just ignor us? Are you a statue or something?" Isaac asked.

"I've always been told if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. Unlike you, I was raised right." Eli said. Thats when I was walking up.

"Wow, seriously guys? It's his first day! Why do you have to pick on anyone thats not like you?"

"Look! It's the loser couple! Jared finally found someone who likes him! Good thing he can't see! He'd ditch you in a split second!" Eric said and walked off laughing with Isaac.

"So you ready to go?" I asked, turning to Eli.

"Yup! Lead the way!" He said standing up.

As we walked back to my house, it was is if he could tell where he was going. I walked up to the front step and the door was locked. I told him my mom wasn't home so we had the house to ourselves. She never usually leaves the door locked when she is  home.

I walked in and turned right to the living room. I threw my backpack on the couch and led him to a seat.

"No need." He said. "I got it." He walked over to the couch without using his idicator stick and without fumbling or tripping once.

        "I-I thought-"

        "You're Jared Jones right?"

        "Yeah..."

"Alright. I know who your dad is."

"What are you talking about?" I said nervousely. "I've never even met my dad!"

"Relax!" He laughed. "You're dad is Jeff the killer right?"

"He's a fictional character on a made up website!" I silently apologized to my dad in my head.

"Really? Because my dad is E.J." He said smugly with a smile. I stared at him in shock. What did he mean E.J.?! Could he? Is it possible?! E.J. got up and sat down next to me on the couch. He leaned in close to me as I drew in a sharp breath nervously. He cupped his hand to my ear and whispered "Eyeless Jack!"

He sat back but still sat next to me. We were so close now that his side was right up against mine. I started leaning in the opposite direction from him, my eyes wide with fear and shock, and my mouth slightly open. It felt like I should say something but I was speechless. I looked and saw his big smile. He was peering over his dark sunglasses at me. When he could see my full expression when I finished turning around he started laughing as if he'd just told the most hilarious joke in all of the history of jokes. He almost fell over off the couch laughing.

He took off his glasses and picked up his pole. He tapped his eyes lightly without blinking, then started laughing again.

"They're glass. I can see perfectly fine, but my mom didn't want people freeking out. Actually my dad had them too for the same reason, only he would only wear them during the day to fool my mom. Once she found out who he really was I was already two and she high-tailed it out of there, she took me with her. We never looked back, or at least she never looked back. Dad followed us like twice. She thinks he won't find us here though, I know she's wrong."

"My dad lied to my mom too, Only I wasn't even born yet. My mom was still pregnant with me when we moved the first time. She tried to get somewhere he couldn't find us. He didn't find me until I was six. When I was really little, though, I was a demon child when I was growing up. I would hurt people and-" I stopped myself. Usually I just ignored everything I've done and blocked it out. Now I was actually talking about it. I put my face in my hands and leaned over taking deep breaths. I started rubbing my hands through my hair as I tried to regain my breath and felt Eli rubbing my back.

"Hey! It's okay buddy! Let it out! It's not like you meant to do that! have done that too! I'm not proud but I can't take it back. Neither can you. It's wasn't out intention. It's just in our blood. Just skip over that part and keep telling me your story." He reassured me. I nodded and sat back up, catching my breath.

"Anyway, I would tell my mom about dreams I had about my dad. Turned out they weren't dreams. She moved us here and we didn't see made dad for about ten years. Then when I fell asleep I didn't actually sleep. I don't remember anything the morning after, but I was awake with my dad. I never actually met him...until a few nights ago...he told me there was stuff I didn't understand and stuff he would teach me and he told me he would help me. I think he watches me. We both hate mom's boyfriend Adam. He's a jerk to me and dad actually does love my mom. I don't know what Adam wants with her, but I don't trust him at all." I looked over at Eli. He was smiling and nodding with his hand on my shoulder.

"Dude, your dad sounds like a good guy. Too bad he's known for being a bad fictional character."

"Do you think your dad still tries to find you?"

"I don't know. I know he was crushed when I left last time. That wasn't too long ago. He's the reason we moved here."

"How did you know who my dad was?"

"Dude, you look just like him! Also, when I saw my dad last I asked if there was anyone else like me. He started telling me about his buddy Jeff and his "estranged" son, Jared. That's you. He started telling me about how you were in the same situation that I'm in. I asked where you were and he told me you were hiding here last time he'd heard. Coincidentally, my mom decided that this was the perfect place to hide. You don't know how excited I was to meet you! Finally have someone who understands and who I can talk to!" That made me smile. Not to long after, he got a message from his mom on a special type of phone for blind people where when you get a message it just plays it out loud telling him to come home. He left and I was alone until I mom got home.

Eli is probably going to be the best thing to ever enter my life.
