ryland and i run out of the water, laughing at a joke that rocky told us. i see laura relaxed on the tanning chairs next to rydel and my mom. she was on her phone.

"what're you doing, babe?" i ask, reaching for a towel. "don't you want to come in the water?"

"yeah." she shakes her head. "sorry."

"what's the matter?" i ask.

"nothing, can you pass me a towel?" she asks.

i wiggle my eyebrows, passing her a towel. she wraps it around her body. "i don't want to go in right now."

"laura, i know something's wrong. just tell me." i say, placing my hand on her thigh. she takes a deep breath and fakes a smile.

"nothing, i just don't feel good." she mumbles.

"pass me your phone." i retort.

"what? no." she chuckles.

"pass me your phone, now."

she sighs, reaching over and placing her phone in my hand, our passwords were the same, so i type it in quickly and see that she was on instagram, reading comments.

my jaw clenches when i read the hate comments, and there were numerous. laura notices that i'm getting angry and attempts to snatch her phone away. "ross it's fine, give me my phone."

"no." i hiss, "why didn't you tell me people were saying this to you?"

"because it's just hate." she shrugs. "everyone has haters."

"no. they're from my fandom. that's the problem." i huff. "what the hell is wrong with people. are you upset?"

laura shakes her head. "i'm fine, honestly. i was just replying to some fans, and they caught my eye so i started reading some."

"that's not okay with me." i roll my eyes. "they're all about you dying and your weight. who the fuck says that about someone. i thought my fans supported me."

"they do, ross. you have amazing fans, some just prefer you with courtney, and that's okay." laura explains.

"i don't care. they don't have to accept that i'm not with courtney, but they should respect it. they should respect you, or not say anything at all." i sigh.

"hey," laura smiles softly, "don't worry about it. i'm okay, let's go swim."

i sigh, her positivity was beautiful, just as beautiful as her. she grabs my hand we walk into the water.

brandon wasn't able to come so it was just my family and laura. we spent the last few hours swimming and just having fun in the water, it was nice to spend some quality time together, and forget about the song writing and stress.

the minute we got back onto the tour bus, laura fell asleep in my bunk, leaving me and ryland to play fortnite.

but i couldn't play, i wasn't playing with my best effort. the hate that was laura was receiving was bothering me, and i couldn't stop thinking about it. i had to do something about it.

i reach for my phone, and click on the twitter icon. my fingers typing, rapidly.
