"what're you so smiley about?" ross asks bluntly, looking over at me while we sat with his family for breakfast.
"none of your concern." i spit back at him.
ross rolls his eyes. "seriously laura?"
                              "what?" i ask, innocently.
"who are you texting?" he now huffs, attempting to snatch my phone. i pull it back and he misses.
                              "ross. stop it!" stormie hisses.
"will you excuse us for a second?" ross asks, pulling out his chair as he grabs my wrist. i groan, but follow him out of the restaurant.
"what do you want?" i ask in annoyance.
ross furrows his eyebrows together. "why aren't you telling me what you're doing on your phone."
i cross my arms over my chest. "i'm making plans for when i go back to new york."
"define these plans." ross says, bitterly.
"i'm hanging out with friends." i tell him.
ross raises an eyebrow. "elaborate on these friends."
                              "savannah, calum, sarah—"
                              "calum?" ross asks.
"worthy." i respond. "is there a problem?"
"why the fuck are you making plans with him?" ross snaps.
"i don't see the big deal?" i say as a question. "i just want to meet some new friends."
"laura, you can't just go meet guys and tell me they're friends? that's bullshit. why, calum? i know he wants you." ross hisses.
"ross, it really isn't a problem. i heard he's nice and funny, i don't know why you're getting all jealous." i shrug, carelessly.
"i'm not jealous!" he bluffs. "but you're leaving me to go hangout with another guy i don't even like, please explain to me why i have no reason to be mad or concerned?"
"do you not trust me or something?" i ask.
"of course i trust you, but do you really think i trust him? i mean, look at you." he bites his lip.
i roll my eyes. "i'm sure it'll be fine."
"is there any way you won't go?" ross asks. "because i don't want you to."
i shake my head. "if you can't accept the fact that i want male friends. then i don't know how we're going to make this work." i quote him.
"are you doing this as payback because courtney's coming on tour?" ross asks with a devilish smirk.
"think of it as whatever you want. i'll tell him you said hi." i smile, walking past him back into the restaurant. i pull out my phone before sitting down to message savannah.
                              good news.
i think the plans working ;)
