| laura's pov |

"i don't know what to do, savannah." i frown, burying my head into my hands, as we facetimed.

"it's a no brainer, take the record deal. that's a once in a lifetime opportunity, laura." she tells me.

i sigh, "so you think i should take it?"

savannah nods, vigorously. "yes! i'm your best friend, laura. i just want what's best for you, and i know this is."

"but, i was so excited to get the part in this show with ross. they literally called me and told me i had the role, i don't want ross to get upset." i frown.

savannah raises an eyebrow. "i know laura, but you aren't even going to be the character you wanted to be, besides, maybe john ceony was right anyway, wouldn't working with ross be a little distracting for both of you?"

i shrug. "i don't know. but i'm worried about how this will affect us, what if when i'm on tour and he's here, he starts to fall for his co-star?"

savannah wiggles her eyebrows. "wait, is this about the record label, or is this about your fear for your relationship breaking apart?"

"both." i sigh.

she scrunches her eyebrows together.

"fine." i blurt out. "i'm scared that our different careers are going to take us away from each other, and his feelings will start to change."

savannah rolls her eyes. "you know who's feelings are going to change? john ceony's if you turn down this opportunity."

"i wish i could do both." i groan.

"it's time to put yourself first, laura. he sees something big in you. what do you want most? put aside ross and put aside everyone else. what do you want to do?" she asks me.

i close my eyes tightly, and just imagine myself on that stage, my name on thousands of billboards as i tour the world and sell my albums. everyone chanting my name, singing along to my songs.

i sigh, confidently. "i-i want the record deal."
