| laura's pov |

i was currently in the middle of googling plane tickets while ross was in the shower. i was so excited to see my mom, and i was so happy that ross was coming with me.

as i was scrolling down some prices, my phone begins to ring. it was an unknown caller, but i chose to answer it anyway. "hello?"

a man's voice speaks. "hello? is this laura marano?"

"yes. who's this?" i ask, confusingly.

"the producer of abc's new series, him and i. a family friend of yours sent us an email a while back in regards to you auditing for the show?" he asks. my jaw drops.

"o-oh right. yes, what about it?" i cough, now paying fully attention.

"well, we thought we'd give you the opportunity. how about you come down to the set in two weeks for an audition? we'll email you the time and location." he says, enthusiastically.

"seriously?" i ask in disbelief. "i m-mean, yes. that's great. thank you for calling."

"no problem. talk soon." he chuckles. the line ends and a smile spreads across my lips. ross' audition was next week, and mine was the week after that. i have to tell ross.

when i hear the shower stop, i set my phone down and casually pretend as if i was on the laptop the entire time. ross walks out of the washroom with a towel hanging loosely around his waist.

"hey baby, find any plane tickets for us yet?" he asks, opening up his suitcase to find a pair of his calvin klein briefs.

"still looking." i mumble. once he's changed into those, he towel dries his hair before jumping into bed next to me. i bit my lip nervously, contemplating on whether to tell him and how.

"i'm actually so nervous for my audition next week." ross chuckles, "i know it's my career, but this is a huge deal. i mean, abc? that's world wide."

i chuckle uncomfortably. "yeah, that's awesome. you'll be fine."

"i think i'm gonna go to sleep now, you should put the laptop away and check again tomorrow morning. it's getting late." he mumbles, pressing his lips against my cheek.

"before you go to sleep, i-i have to tell you something." i stutter.

"what is it?" ross asks, with concern.

"you know how i was telling you about how i wanted to try something else, how i was taking a break from modelling. your mom recommended me to try acting." i say slowly.

"and?" he chuckles.

"s-she emailed the producers to the same show you're auditioning for, asking if i could come in for an audition, and they just called me back saying i can come in two weeks. but if you don't want to work with me, i totally understand. i don't want to come in the way of your career." i sigh.

ross' lips curve into a smile. "aweh. laura, i'd love to work with you and i'm so happy you got the call back. i think it'll be an experience for us. did you think i would get mad or something?"

i nod chuckling. "sort of."

ross rolls his eyes playfully. "i wouldn't get mad over that. now turn off the light, i'm on the verge of falling asleep as we speak."

"i love you." i chuckle, pressing my lips against his. he smiles and wraps his bulky arms around my waist tightly. "i love you more."
