| laura's pov |

"thank you so much, savannah. you don't understand how much this means to me!" i gush, pulling my best friend in for a hug.

she had brought me everything i wanted and more, she brought me all my clothes, shoes and personal childhood belongings, in all one suitcase.

"of course, laura!" she smiles, widely. "where's ross?"

"sleeping." i tell her with a soft laugh. "we didn't go to bed last night until three."

savannah covers her ears and shuts her eyes. "i don't want to hear it."

i playfully roll my eyes at her dirty mind, and push her jokingly. "not because of that. we stayed up writing a song for my record deal, they want my first song in by friday."

"can i hear it?" savannah asks with a wide smile. "oh never mind, ross is sleeping."

"he's a heavy ass sleeper." i tell her, walking towards the piano. i shake my hands, and clear my throat before i start.

"there's nothing wrong with spending summer in another city
i've seen the lights above the streets at night, they look so pretty
i've flown above the clouds and thought i'd never come back down ( back down )

now i find myself where i started
picked right up like we never parted
feels like i'm in between
am i wide awake or in a dream? ( a dream )

no matter where i go
there's no place like home
there's no place like home
no no no matter where i go
there's no no no
there's no place like...

there's nothing better than a wave that's louder than the ocean
i heard the sound and there was love, i felt every emotion
i always wanted more and i got what i waited for ( waited for )

feet on land, i know i belong here
can't forget, i'm never alone here
so put your arms around me
make me feel like i've been found ( i'm found )

no matter where i go
there's no place like home
there's no place like home
no no no matter where i go
there's no no no
there's no place like...

no
matter where i go
no
no matter where i go
there's no place like home
there's no place like home
no no no matter where i go
there's no no no
there's no place like home
there's no place like home ( home )
no no no matter where i go
there's no no no
there's no place like home"

savannah begins to clap with her mouth gaped open. "holy shit, laura. i never knew you could write or sing."

i chuckle. "thanks. me either."

she was playing with violet and her chew toy, and i frowned. "i wish you lived here, sav. i miss you, it feels nice having someone from new york here with me."

savannah smirks. "i was going to tell you right away, but we got caught up in conversation."

"tell me what?" i ask, confused.

"my family moved here!" she exclaims. "i'm living in california now! that's why i came!"

"what?" i ask, excitedly. "you better not be joking!"

she shakes her head and laughs. "i'm not, my mom, brandon and twin sisters all moved out here. we live fifteen minutes away from stormie's."

i smile widely, pulling my best friend in for a hug. "yay!"

we hear a bedroom door open, and a groggy, messy haired ross walks out rubbing his eyes, tiredly. "oh, hey sav." he yawns.

"hey, ross!" she smiles.

"savannah brought me my stuff." i tell him, "breakfast is in the microwave by the way."

"thanks, baby." he smiles cutely, pressing his lips against my cheek.

"so, when does ross start filming?" savannah asks me.

i sigh, "three days after his birthday, he's leaving to porto rico and i'm staying here."

"aweh, that must suck." she sighs. "but at least you guys will get to spend your birthdays together and christmas before separating."

"and new year's eve." i giggle. "he leaves new year's day."
