Killian POV

I sat in the waiting room. My mind raced. I just wanted the doctor to come out and tell me everything was okay, so I could go in there and yell at her for not telling me she was pregnant.

you idiot. she tried to tell you.

I sighed and put my head in my hands David came out of the emergency room doors. I stood up.

"Is she okay?" I asked. He nodded.

"She's okay. The baby is okay but they are keeping her overnight to give her fluids." He said.

"What did they say it was?" I asked.

"hyperemesis gravidarum" He said.

"Are you telling me what's wrong with her, or casting a spell?" I asked. He rolled his eyes.

"It basically means Severe morning sickness. She hasn't been able to keep anything down for a week I should have known something was going on."

"Is this..going to hurt the baby?" I asked. David shook his head.

"Not if we watch it closely, The doctor said its very rare that it will effect her through the whole pregnancy. But she could be dealing with it until the first trimester is over. We need to make sure she stays hydrated and that she's keeping down as much food as possible." He said.

I sighed and looked down at the floor.

"I hope you realize that you've ruined her life." David said coldly. I glared up at him.

"I'm sure she doesn't see it that way." I said.

"No, I'm sure she doesn't. She's only 18. She doesn't understand fully what is about to happen." He said.

"Enlighten me." I muttered and rolled my eyes.

"Life as she knew it is about to change. She's not going to be able to go to college. She's not going to be able to spend time with her friends because she's going to be too busy being a mother and I don't think she realizes how hard that is going to be." He said.

"I think you don't give her enough credit." I argued. "She's highly intelligent. and she's certainly not the child you are making her out to be."

"Okay, Fine. Maybe I don't give her enough credit. But what about you? Are you ready for this?" He asked.

"Is anyone ever ready for this?" I asked. "If you are asking if I am going to leave this child fatherless, than no. I am not, I'm not the scum of the earth you think I am." I said standing and approaching him. For him to even assume that I would ever abandon my child struck a long buried nerve.

"Hm. Well, you are an Algebra teacher, who is dating one of your students, Oh.. and you started seeing that student when she was still underage, and now you've managed to knock her up. I think whether or not you are a scum bag remains to be seen." David said.

"David..Stop." Kassidy's weak voice said from behind me. I turned around and saw Kassidy standing there, with her IV pole. She was pale and looked horrible.

"Kassidy. What are you doing out of bed?!" David asked

"I sent the nurse after blue jello, and then made my escape." She said and smirked. "Can.. I speak to Killian? Alone?" She asked. David sighed.

"Fine." He said. and looked at me. "Take her back to her room. Make sure she stays in bed."

I nodded and led a wobbly Kassidy back towards her room.

"You can't just get out of bed like that right now." I said.

"I just wanted to see you." She said.
