Chapter 29 Don't Let Go

Kassidy POV

I walked into the hospital, trying to remain calm my legs felt like jello and my hands were shaking I walked to the front desk.

"Killian.. Jones. I need to see Killian Jones." I said my voice was cracking.

"I'm going to go sit down." Henry said and put a hand on my shoulder. "You okay?" He asked. I gave him a quick nod. Nothing about this moment was okay. I had been here too much, Lost too many people that this should have felt normal by now but it didn't.

"The Nolan's are on their way. Is there anyone you want me to call?"

I shook my head and he went and sat down. I didn't have that many people that knew about Killian and our situation and if I knew Emma, Belle and Ruby wouldn't be too far behind her when she got here. Henry didn't even know that Killian was my teacher it wasn't something that you just casually bring up to the half brother you only met a day ago. Not that it mattered much anymore. Regina knew, this whole thing could explode in a matter of days. I hated that woman, I felt like this was all her fault, but that could be because I was looking for someone to blame.

accidents happen. that's why they are called accidents. my dads voice came through.

Of course I never believed that line when he spilled it to me, my mother was murdered by a drunk driver and no one could tell me differently. I had no idea however what happened to Killian, I had no idea if it was just a one car accident or a 6 car accident I didn't have the details I didn't even know if he was alive.

Focus Kassidy. Killian

"Killian Jones.." I repeated to the woman at the front desk.

"I'm sorry Ma'am only family is allowed back there." She said.

"He's the father of..my children." I said and gestured to my round belly.

"I'm sorry its immediate family." She specified. Any calm composure I had went out the window.

"I don't think you are understanding me. These, are his sons. He is my fiancé. Let me back there!" I yelled.

"Ma'am I can- "

"LET ME SEE HIM!" I screamed. Liam came out the double doors.

"Its okay.. Its okay she's family." He said and quickly ushered me back with him.

"How bad is it Liam?" I asked. He didn't answer we just walked down the hall way, anxiety bubbled in my chest.

"Liam.." I repeated.

"He's alive, he looks pretty rough though The doctors said it was a Miracle he didn't have any form of brain damage, Just a severe concussion, a few hours ago he was slipping in and out of consciousness but he stopped doing that."

"A few hours ago? How long ago was this??" I asked.

"About 4:30." He said.

"Liam its 10:30 why didn't you call me?!" I asked.

"We tried, you wouldn't answer the phone. Anyways. Hes got broken bones kind of everywhere and he just came out of surgery for some internal bleeding." He said as we turned into a room. I gasped. Killian was hooked up to like 100 different things, he was bloodied and bruised everywhere and his face had cuts and bruises all over it he looked like he was asleep.

"Oh..my God."

"Its...a lot to take in. I know." Liam said.

"I.. I need to know how this happened? Was he drinking? How did the accident happen? I know the roads are icy in places did he slip? Was there any other cars??" I started piling the questions on him.

"Calm down love." Liam said.

"I can't just calm down Liam! I need to know how this happened." I said. Liam sighed and pushed me down into a chair so I was sitting.

"There was one other car involved, No one was intoxicated." He said. I sighed in relief I did not want to go down that road again.

"He drove into the other lane and when the oncoming car struck his, it flipped him. Then he hit a patch of ice and spun before rolling off of the road. He's lucky to be alive." I put my head in my hands.

"I feel..so bad." I said.

"Why love? this isn't your fault."

"He could have died and the last thing I did was push him away, I gave him back the ring, and I basically told him to fuck off." I said.

"No one knew this would happen. you can't dwell on things that you said in the heat of the moment." Liam said. "Why don't you talk to him for a little bit? He can hear you he just can't respond right now. I'm going to go speak with Robin in the waiting room I'll be back." He said and walked out of the room leaving me to sit in silence with Killian. I didn't know what to say, so I just started rambling.

"So.. fun fact. I have a brother." I said. "A half brother actually apparently my Dad and Regina did the nasty. Gross right?..but you probably already knew that. Maybe you would have told me if I had given you the chance to get a word in." I said and sighed. "Anyways...his name is Henry and Hes kind of a huge Dork but I think you'd like him. I haven't exactly worked out a way to casually bring up that you are my algebra teacher." I said and laughed a little.

I wanted him to talk back. I wanted him to laugh with me but he was quiet and the only other sound in the room was the beeping from the monitors. My eyes teared up.

"Like, I know you are here right now but I've never missed you so much in my life." I said. "And this fucking sucks because I'm still mad at you but all I can think about is what would have happened if you died and I didn't get to tell you that I still love you. You're an Asshole. But you are my Asshole damnit and I really.. I just need you to wake up right now and talk to me." I said and wiped my eyes and sat in silence for a little while longer.

"Your sons have been kicking the crap out of me for a week now. I think they miss your voice." I said and sighed. I curled up in the chair next to his bed.

"Kassi.." I heard and felt a nudge. I didn't even realize I had fallen asleep. I blinked a couple of times and Robins face came into view. They were started to let everyone else back to see him which I didn't if that was good or bad.

"Robin hey." I said.

"Hey, you look exhausted why don't you go home? I'll call you if anything happens." He said.

"I'm not leaving him." I said and yawned.

Liam walked in with a pillow and a warm blanket for me.

"I'm telling you Robin its like beating a dead horse with this one. She sets her mind on something and you aren't changing it." I put the pillow behind my head in the chair and Liam draped the blanket over me.

"Get some more rest love. I'll wake you if anything changes."

"Okay." I said and curled into the pillow and went back to sleep.

Killian POV

I opened my eyes to the slow steady beeping of whatever contraption I was hooked too. Kassidy could probably tell me what exactly it was she watched all those medical dramas. I groaned as I tried to sit up a little.

"Easy brother." Liam said helping me adjust myself.

"What.. the bloody hell happened?" I asked.

"You were in an accident." Liam said. "A pretty nasty one. you are gonna be in here for a couple weeks while they fix you up. I'm gonna wake Kass up I told her I'd wake her if anything changed." He said.

"Kass?" I mumbled still trying to fully wake up. Liam nodded towards the left of me. I turned my head and blinked a couple of times. Kassidy was sleeping in the chair next to the bed. I smiled. She was here. She was the last person I had expected to see here.

"Don't wake her." I said.

"Are you sure?" Liam asked.

"How long has she been here?" I asked.

"All night brother she refused to let Robin take her home."

"Let her sleep." I smiled.
