wedding feelings

"Kaitlynn?"

I spin around and face Harry. He's standing there with his sister, who is smiling at me.

"This is my sister, Gemma. Gemma, this is Kaitlynn."

"It's lovely to meet you," she smiles at me. "Thank you for coming. I know Harry can be a total arse to be around, so it means a lot that you're here with him."

I laugh lightly as Harry shoves her playfully. "It's so nice to meet you. You look stunning. Congratulations on everything."

"Thank you! Have you met Michal yet?" she asks as she looks around. "Oh never mind, I have no clue where he's run off to. I should probably find him."

She chats with me for another minute or two before she gets called off elsewhere. Harry steps forward, getting closer to me.

"Kaitlynn, I really can't thank you enough for doing this for me," he mumbles quietly. "My mum is so relieved that I've got a plus one."

"Why is it such a big deal?"

"Let's just say that the last wedding we all attended led to me being asked to leave the building."

"Jesus, who the hell were you before I met you?" I laugh lightly, looking at him in disbelief.

He gives me a small smile. "Somebody who I never want to be ever again. Do you want something to eat before the cake gets cut?"

I shake my head. "I'm alright. My body is still on LA time and I'm not really hungry."

"When did you get in?"

"About an hour before the wedding."

His eyes widen. "I booked a flight for you to come over a day before the wedding, what happened to that?"

"I told myself I wasn't going to come and changed my mind at the last minute."

He nods. "Send me the amount for the rescheduled flight fees and I'll pay you back. You want to go sit with the boys?"

"Sure," I smile, ignoring his first sentence for now. "Do you have a jacket inside that I could borrow though? I left mine at the hotel on accident."

Instead of going inside to get one, he slips his suit jacket off of his arms and puts it around me. I slip my arms in and thank him quietly. He takes my hand again and leads me over to where Erin is sitting with Liam, Louis, and Niall. We take a seat in the two empty chairs and Louis greets me with a surprised look. Clearly he hadn't seen me at all today and somehow didn't hear a mention of me from the others. I doubt any of them knew I was going to be coming in the first place, before Harry and I stopped spending time together.

"Gem looks gorgeous," Niall comments. "You ever gonna follow your sister and settle?"

"Harry and settle in the same sentence? Yeah right," Louis huffs. Erin and I exchange a glance and she gives me a sympathy smile. I hated this.

"Oh shut up, Lou," Harry snickers at his friend. "Like you have any fucking room to talk."

"Hey, I have Eleanor!"

"And where is she?"

Louis clamps his mouth shut and glares at Harry. I laugh lightly at the two of them. Apparently Louis and Eleanor had gotten in a pretty big fight and she stayed in LA instead of coming on the trip.

Harry's mom comes up behind him and smiles at all of us. "Are we all having fun?"

Everybody nods, and Liam speaks up. "Of course. Thank you so much for having us Anne."
