The epic battle begins. Mari vs Mitsu, Darkness vs Light, Yin vs Yang! And then there's just Add. Oh and there's (y/n) too. Let's not forget our main character.  ____________________________________

Add had the power, strength, stamina, skill, defense, and most definitely the smarts to hold out against Mari, but he was also human. Mari was not. Humans have limitations, and because of those limitations, Mari was able to beat him when he had tired out. He was now completely out of energy and badly injured from Mari's whip. That dog had no mercy at all, but Add didn't expect her to.

As much as it bothered him that he'd lost, there was nothing he could do about it now that he was caged in light. It was strange how Mari was supposed to be darkness and evil, yet she utilized light just as well as Mitsu possibly utilized darkness. Add found that odd because Mitsu was supposed to represent light.

The worst part about the entire situation was that Add was stuck outside of the library and had been that way for almost two days now. If he had enough energy to break the cage of light, he would have already done it, but because of the library's stupid curse, the energy that he did regain was slowly sapped away just because he wasn't in the library. Add had never been so vulnerable ever and he hated it. He had always been powerful. He'd always been clever. Never ever had he been weak, so being weak now was new and very uncomfortable for him. It was almost scary.

For the first time in his life, he wished that (y/n) was there with him. He had always told himself that he didn't necessarily enjoy her presence but he of course knew this to be a lie. "Add!"

He thought he heard (y/n) call his name. "Great now I'm hearing things," he thought with a groan. But then he heard it again, his name being called more desperately than before. He didn't bother to move though, thinking that he was possibly going a little crazy from lack of food and water nearly two days.

He just lay they and kept his eyes closed hoping that he might drift off into a quiet sleep. "Add!!" (y/n)'s voice yelled closer than ever which was starting to annoy him. He opened his eyes and saw something with one black wing and one white wing heading in his direction. It was then that he realized that it was indeed (y/n)'s voice that he was hearing. He had never been so grateful to see her.

She landed near the cage of light and leaned her head on it to look through the bars at him. "I came back," she whispered. "I'm sorry I left. This wouldn't have happened if I hadn't left," she said.

"Shut up," he muttered. He didn't wish for (y/n) to be there with him for her to only apologize to him. "It isn't your fault anyway. If you don't mind, I would also like to be freed," Add said. He didn't like it when she saw any moments of his weakness. She nodded in response to his order to be freed, and scooted away from the prison a little. She traced the symbol for Yang in the air and it glowed with its respective colors. The light cage turned black and then it shattered.

"You overpowered the darkness causing it to become unstable. That's very clever," Add commented. To his disappointment, (y/n) did not smile like she did when he usually praised her for the tactics that she used, but what reason would she have to do that when he was in the condition he was in while she was in the broken state she was in. He expected her to leave him there and wait for him to die since she seemed to hate him, but instead she held her hands above his chest and said "heal" and "mend".

His wounds were immediately healed and his torn clothes were mended as well. He felt entirely refreshed and let out a small sigh to signify it. "That better?" (y/n) asked. He didn't answer her as he usually didn't when he felt weak and didn't want (y/n) to see his weakness. Instead he just sat upright and looked at her. He studies her features for any signs clues of why she had returned.

"What made you come back?" he asked with genuine curiosity. He wasn't able to tell anything just by looking at her.

"Mari. She mentioned you and she'd hurt you so I came back to help," she said as she stared at him.

"But why? You're supposed to hate me," Add said. (Y/n) shook her head at him. "I can't hate you forever...because friends forgive each other, and I consider you as my friend. You've done way too many other things for me to eternally hate you," she said. Add was actually surprised by her words.

Add thought he knew (y/n) well only because he figured out how her powers worked and how to manipulate her a little, but he would have never guessed that she'd consider him a friend. Her words struck his heart and he found himself feeling a weakness that he didn't enturely hate. He crawled over to her and sat next to her while she kept her gaze on him to watch his every move. Then he did the unexpected. Add pulled her into a hug causing (y/n) flinched at first, but then she relaxed.

"Thank you. I consider you a friend too," he whispered to her. He then rested his head on her shoulder, allowing her to do the same since they were around the same height. He could count the number of times he had ever been hugged by her. Including this time, it would only be three.

"We should go back into the library. I can sense that you're still losing energy," (y/n) said to him. He didn't argue as she pulled away from him and stood up with a hand held out to him to help him up. He didn't want or need her help to get up, but something told him to allow her to help anyway so he did. "Where are your dynamos?" she asked him. He looked out to where he and Mari had faught.

"She broke them, but they can be fixed in no time," he told her as he began to walk towards where his dynamos lay in ruins. She stopped him by placing a hand against his chest.

"You need to get back to the library. I will get your dynamos. Mari will come back for me soon anyway once Mitsu is no longer able to fight her. It almost took me a day to get back to you, Add. I know you need to go back inside," (y/n) said to him.

"Then how do you suppose I get back then?" he asked her. She grinned at him when her wings appeared.

"There's no way I'm allowing that," he protested, but he eventually gave in since he really didn't want to argue with her. True to her word, (y/n) took him in the library and brought him his dynamos, but she herself stayed outside of the library. Add knew she was waiting for Mari, but he was concerned about it.

He had only lost to Mari because she didn't tire out. (Y/n) was strong but she could tire out as well, so he wasn't sure if (y/n) could actually beat her. Add didn't bother to leave the library and wait with her even though he wanted to. Despite (y/n) having said nothing to him, it was quite clear that she wanted him to stay inside of the library.
