Look who wrote another chapter. Yup, me. Now enjoy!
____________________________________"Can you confirm that she's still there? If she know's that you're still alive, don't you think she'd be gone by now?" Jenji said.
"I'm quite sure of what I told you. (Y/n) will not leave the library because there is something there that she's attached to and refuses to leave," Mari snapped.
"I don't like your attitude. I suggest you fix it," Jenji responded. Mari hated that she had to go to such low methods to get her revenge.
Once (y/n) had gotten rid of her physical form with a simple stab, Mari was drained of energy. All of the time she had spent gathering energy to kill Mitsu was completely wasted. Mari would have to start all the way over, and she refused to wait that long for vengeance that she'd had right before her but lost because she played around. She didn't feel like dealing with that, so she searched for a human that shared her interest in harming (y/n).
There were plenty of people who would have killed for the chance to get back at the Reaper Angel, but there was one person in particular that caught Mari's attention. At the mention of Reaper Angel, the boy seemed to catch fire in the flames of long awaited vengeance. This boy was none other than Jenji, the son of a former wealthy man who had owned a research faculty. Even the government would follow his every word for fear of his wealth and power being turned against them. That was until he was killed by (y/n).
Jenji had told Mitsu the story of how he had to take over his father's business and how powerful he had become because of it. However, he never felt satisfied because his father's killer was still roaming free. Upon learning this, Mari made a contract with Jenji, and she was able to use his life force as energy without entirely draining it from him. It was a short cut through all of the years it would have taken to get enough power on her own. The only down side was that Jenji was in complete control.
She had to do what he said whether she disagreed or not. Mari of course used her manipulation ability to convince him into doing certain things, but she just had to hope that he would follow through with finding and killing (y/n) and Mitsu.
"Come on. We should make our way there while they're still expecting us to show. That way, that stupid experiment will know what it's like to lose someone important," Jenji said to her. He didn't know that Mari had sent the nightmare to Add instead of (y/n), but either way, both knew of their arrival and were probably stressing out about it.
"With pleasure. Let the game begin," Mari said. They left the town that they were in and headed right towards the library. It would take weeks to get there since they were so far away, but Mari made sure to remember its exact location. She had two enemies to deal with and one person to torture with her enemies' deaths, so she had no time to waste.
"Mari, tell me why it is that you hate your sister so much," Jenji commanded. It was the millionth time that he'd asked her, and she knew why he would do it. He was purposely rubbing in her face that she had failed and that she better not fail. Mari had no choice but to tell him because of the stupid contract.
"I hate my sister Mitsu because she convinced me that cursing the people when they came to the temple would get them to restore the temple itself. She was only trying to distract me all those years so that she could steal my power and blame its loss on the fact that I cursed people."
"She locked me in the shrine for a year, and during that time she found a human and convinced them to become her host. She left me there with no power, and the temple crumbled to nothing by the time I was released. I hate her for it, so I want my revenge by killing her."
"If I kill her, then all of her power stays with her host, and when I kill the host, I will become the entity of balance instead. But if the host kills me and Mitsu is dead already, then the host will remain the entity of balance. Mitsu could steal that title by simply killing her host as long as I'm already dead. That's why I hate Mitsu. She's selfish," Mari explained.
Jenji then did what he did every time Mari told him that story. "So if you know the reason why you want your sister and her host dead, why did you fail when you had that chance. If you are not good enough to fight that lowlife and get your revenge, I have no use for you, so I suggest you keep your act together," Jenji said. If Mari didn't need Jenji's help, she would have killed him a long time ago.
Jenji was stubborn, rude, and he thought that he was better than everyone, which Mari didn't think were bad qualities at all. The only problem was that he was very annoying to her, and she couldn't stand having to take orders from a human boy who annoyed her nearly to near death.
At times he would act just like she would in certain situations which she didn't hate, but in other situations he would do something that Mitsu might do which she did hate. "I really hate you," Mari said in reply.
Jenji kept walking and said, "Yeah, I know. You tell me that all of the time, but if you hate me that much you can just break the contract. Oh wait, you can't because you need me. You're not powerful enough to do this on your own," he taunted. It was times like these that Mari hated him the most.
