Is anybody else curious about how this all ends? I know I am...oh wait, I forgot, I'm the author...I'm already supposed to know.
____________________________________"You shouldn't be out here, Add," (y/n) said once she noticed his presence.
"You're very strange, you know. You usually want me to go with you whenever you leave the library," Add said as he came to a stop next to her. "How long should it have taken for Mari to get here?" he asked.
(Y/n) didn't actually know but she did know that Mitsu had not shown up yet and she was not able to summon the trouble making cat to her as she usually did. "I don't know when she'll be here, but when she shows up, you can't be out here," (y/n) said to Add as she glared at him. Her glares were never affective against him, yet she tried them anyway.
"I'm not going to let you fight her by yourself. I don't think that's what friends are supposed to do," Add said to her. "Whatever. It's not like I entirely care anymore. I just came here to make sure that you were okay to be honest but you seem to be fine so I'll be on my way." He shruged and began to walk away. It made sense that Add would check on her since she had been outside for an entire day just standing in the same spot and waiting for Mari. The reason being that (y/n) figured that Mari was already there and just waiting for her to let down her gaurd even a little. It was unusual though because, before now, the only time Add actually checked on her was when she was visibly hurt, not because he was actually worried.
"Add wait," she called to him. He turned back to her with a smirk on his face.
"I knew you'd do that," he said once he returned to her side. He seemed all too eager to stand there with her.
"So what if you did. I could always tell you to go away again," (y/n) said so that she wouldn't be left without a counter statement.
"Well, then what did you call me over here for if you planned on sending me away," Add said and ruined her personal win. She had no counter for that.
"That doesn't matter. I just wanted to know if...you could bring me some water. I don't want to leave this spot until I've dealt with Mari," (y/n) said without making eye contact with Add. His demeanor pretty much mocked her and she didn't feel like being mocked at the moment."Is that all you need me to do," Add said in a taunting voice. He was most definitely teasing her now.
"Do you want to fight? Huh, do you?" (y/n) said as she pouted at him. Whenever she threatened to fight him, he would usually leave her alone mainly because he felt superior and laughed at the thought of her challenging him. Just as he usually did, he laughed at her.
"Now why would you waste your energy on something like that. You should be worried about fighting Mari, not me. You've been out here all this time worrying anyway, so maybe you should just stop. Come get the water yourself," Add said. With those words, he swept her off of her feet and into his arms without warning.
"Hey! Put me down right now, Add!" (y/n) shouted. He refused to comply and pulled her closer to him instead.
"Quiet down, (y/n). You'll scare away the wind because nothing else is here," Add said as he proceeded to carry her back to the library.
"Add I'm serious. Put. Me. Down," (y/n) said without shouting this time.
"No," he simply said and continued on. He glanced at her briefly showing the sincerity in his concern, but (y/n) didn't want to accept it at the moment.
"Put me down," (y/n) whinned. There was a reason she hadn't wanted Add outside with her.
"I said no," he replied which was driving (y/n) even closer to her breaking point. Add saw this as a mere game but (y/n) did not. She viewed it as a threat to both of their lives because she had now let her gaurd down.
"Add seriously! Put me down! I am not going back inside. I need to stay out here!" she shouted which made him abruptly stop. He sighed although he made No effort to release her from his hold.
"No. You don't need to stay out here. I'm tired of you being this way. I did this to you, and I really am sorry about it. Having the weight of the world on your shoulders isn't something that a normal human being is supposed to worry about. I should know, I used to be one, but when I was enslaved, that was taken away from me. I don't want you to end up like me, but your already so close to being there. I have to fix you," he said while staring her directly in the eyes.
They held pain, the same kind of pain that she had felt while being enslaved, but she had never known about Add's past until then. "I just didn't want you to die," she said in her defense. Add stared at her for a moment as if she'd hit him. Then grinned at her, and all of the pain in his eyes disappeared.
"You know that it'll take more than the entity of darkness to kill me," he said. Just then, something in the trees that weren't far from them, rustled. (Y/n) quickly darted her eyes to that direction and pushed herself away from Add causing him to drop her from the unexpected action. She recovered easily and crouched in an attacking pose. To her dismay, it was simply a bird that had gotten tangled in the tree's branches. "See this is what I'm talking about. You can't be like this all of the time," Add said. (Y/n) was disappointed to have proved Add's point.
"I have a legitimate reason to be like this right now," (y/n) said as she stood and brushed herself off.
"You're like that all of the time whether you notice it or not. I should know. I've studied you for years," he said. That last sentence hurt her but she didn't let it show. "Come on. I won't carry you this time. You ruined that," Add said as he began to walk to the library's entrance. Then a wave of déjà hit her.
The nightmare had gone like this in a way. Add said something to her that hurt her and then they went back to the library only for Add to suddenly be backstabbed by a knife traveling so fast that it went right through him. It was to late. (Y/n) sprinted forward to try and save him but the knife from the nightmare had traveled much faster than she remembered.
"Add!" she yelped just as she had in the dream. He fell right into the library, just as he had in the dream, and she was held back from saving him by a sudden unknown force that she knew was Mari. This time, however, she knew that Add didn't mean to hurt her feelings unlike how last time it seemed like he did. A rush of energy went through her as she released her wings, both now being silver along with her hair and eyes.(Y/n) shot forward and went after Add who was still falling. She was flying faster than she had before and she was able to get rid of the delay that Mari had caused. (Y/n) knew she couldn't suddenly pull Add up with the injury that he had so she flew in between him and the water turned ice that awaited them below. She wrapped her arms around him and shouted "barrier" before burying her face into his neck.
(Y/n) waited for the impact to come and it did. The barrier helped so much that it felt like she'd just fallen out of bed from an unpleasant sleep which she had done before. The ice broke instantly and submerged the barrier into the three feet of water that still remained below it. (Y/n) uncovered her face and said "float" causing the barrier to float up into the air.
Once she held and supported Add's weight, she shattered the barrier and flew to the nearest floor, the seventh floor where his room was, but she didn't go that far. "Heal!" she said as she held Add close to her. The symbol appeared but (y/n) got no response from Add. Illogic crowded her thinking and she imagined the worst so she began to cry into Add's hair.
