Sam's POV
Arianna is brilliant. She was matching monsters to their weakness like it was a regular hobby.
"Hey Sam, can we start the exorcism?" I could hear the excitement in her voice.
Never in my life had I ever met someone excited to learn an exorcism.
"Sure."
I pull the book over between us and scoot in her direction. Partly because I wanted to be closer to her, but the other part was sharing the book.
"This looks so rustic, how old is this book?"
"Well this is- was my dad's journal, so probably twenty eight or nine years old." Her mouth formed a little 'oh' before smiling softly.
"Did he give it you?" Arianna's voice was quiet like we were sharing secrets. God knows how many Dad kept from us.
"Kind of. He left us a trail and this is what was there to greet us at the end."
"That's very cryptic almost. No offense," She says with her hands raised in innocence.
"None taken, anyway this is the Rituale Roman Exorcism. Dad wrote it down along with some other prayers and stuff but this is the baseline for expelling demons," I explained pointing to the latin script that covered the yellowing pages.
"Sam, this is honestly one of the coolest things I have seen. How did I not know this whole other world existed within the same universe as the one I lived in? It's crazy," She breathed the last words in disbelief.
Her words almost jumbled into anything but coherent. I was to focused staring at her expressions and reactions to the messy scrawls. She would let her fingers feel the soft paper pressing her tongue between her lips in concentration. Arianna was intelligent. Focused. Every sentence she spoke had the articulation that seemed she combed through every possible word to find the perfect one knocking me successfully on my ass. Even though this world of monsters and demons was all new to her it all clicked. Almost as if she was the missing link to deciphering the Voynich manuscript. Perhaps, I just am fascinated or infatuated even.
"Trust me, it's not as crazy as you think. Even though they're in the same universe the distance between them is massive. Every now and then you find someone accepting. Kind of like you." I smile as she shrugs her shoulders while shaking her head.
"Uh-huh, sure Samuel. You're just trying to make up for my lack of skill."
"Not at all," I say leaning into my chair. Arianna shakes her head in unbelief.
"Not convinced. Let me just suck reciting this Latin and we will see who is correct."
"Deal."
Arianna picked up the Latin fairly quickly. She struggled on some words but took them on nonetheless.
"See, told you." A small blush settles on her cheeks.
"I guess you did."
Taylor's POV
Dean and I were walking back to the house when Bobby met us halfway.
"I think it's about time to grab something eat." Dean automatically seem to perk up.
"The diner down the road should be open." He says looking at his watch.
"Diner? What time is it?"
What time had we got here?
"It's about five 'til 11. I am still not sure how you're still awake right now." Dean quirked an eyebrow as both of their eyes settled on me.
"Me either, maybe I should take an hour." Time had flew by since being with the Winchesters.
